Yes that helps. The more "colorful" your resume is, the more attention you will get.

:-) That's quite true actually. The ones that do not have a picture, I usually skip. Must be some human reflex action.

Hi Dhaval,

There are a few things you can do to make sure that you find that first job - you need to set aside a few hours to work on your profile and sell yourself.

1. You must take the ODesk ready test before you can apply for any job on here.

2. Write yourself a short mission statement letting employers know what your skills are. Something like ASP.Net programmer with two years experience....etc.

3. Take some more tests. For example, you could take the English test. You don't need a great score, but buyers will know that they can communicate with you to get the job done.

4. Portfolio - include some examples of your work and links to sites you have worked on. Prove that you have two years experience.

5. Upload a picture - buyers are more likely to hire if they can see a smiling face!

6. A resume of your education and skills is always useful, letting a buyer judge your experience and qualifications.

7. The final, and most important point, apply for just a few jobs each week but spend time making a great cover letter for each. Tailor it to the specific job and make the buyer think that he is crazy not to hire you.

If you look in the help topics, there is a wealth of information about filling in your profile and writing cover letters. I have probably missed out a few things, so it is worth looking there.

Once you get that first job, and feedback, you will be flying.

Hi there,
I have registered in odesk since 2-3 months and from that
continuing apply jobs which have matched to my portfolio and i am also
having 2+ yr. of exp. then y should i can not getting any job. Please,
make me correct when i am wrong.
