Preferred reference books

I like to review the book in question. If it provides the answers I need I will buy it, regardless of the publisher. Of course Microsoft Publishing is usually the best source for MS products, but not always.

What publisher/author of books on programming do you prefer?

Adobe/Macromedia Press

books

I have a shelf of PeachPit Press "Visual Quickstart Guides." Straight forward, 1-2-3 step by step instructions, often much better than the software instruction manuals. Great for software or procedures that are used infrequently. These books are low priced, well worth the money.

packtpub

They offer books on cutting edge technology.
