'Send as' @odesk.com email
on Fri, 2008-02-29 20:23. Tips and Best Practices Do you simply reply to mail sent to your @odesk.com email address using your personal email?
Do you reply back with your @odesk.com email address in the 'reply-to' field?
Do you 'Send as' your @odesk.com email address? If so, what email client/provider do you use?
I'm not asking for myself. I already have both Gmail and Apple Mail.app set up for 'send as'. But I'm curious what route others are taking.
And if you know of a different way to 'send as' post it here so that others can learn from your wisdom!
no extra step
Hi Jacqui!
I know that you know already about what I use for email[at]odesk.com - it's all set up on my Yahoo mail for sending and receiving mail.
I prefer using @odesk.com mail extension because it avoids the extra step on being asked by the buyer about my connection with oDesk.
Thanks for the reminder -

- Press OK.
- Now to send an email. Click Write on the main toolbar.
- On the From field choose you ODesk email from the pull down menu.
This works in Thunderbird version 2.0.0.16, I haven't tested it anywere else but I assume that any higher version will offer this feature.
Hope someone finds this useful.

I've started using @odesk.com id. There are few reasons for this change. Once an employer talked to me to give details of the job/work. He said he has sent all the info to my @odesk.com id and added it in his contact list. I had to explain the situation that it is not like regular mail id. Since then, I've been using @odesk.com id.
Initially I configured gmail to send mail as @odesk.com id. I had to refresh the web page to check my inbox for new mails. Then I tried to configure Mozilla Thunderbird to get the same functionality. I'm happy to say that it did work in Thunderbird after changes made in gmail account. Now no more refreshing.
Now, I've started giving my @odesk.com id to my friends and it gives me pleasure to use this unique id.
Thanks to oDesk technical team for including this functionality.
Pothi.
