Posting your profile to ask feedback is encouraged. You can post it here or better yet, ask that in a new thread (in English) so that you get more feedback not only from Pinoy providers but from many providers from other countries.

Ako po si Margie from QC. Wala po kayong babayaran pag dating ng card.
Pero meron pong $2 fee na ibabawas kada withdraw niyo ng kita niyo dito sa oDesk. (plus the ATM charge(
, depende po kung alin ang gagamitin niyo.)
Mag-take po kayo ng relevant na tests para dumami yung chances niyo to apply. If you take at least 5 tests, you have 20 per week po. Try niyo po yung MS Word, MS Excel, Office Skills, Email Etiquette, etc.

New here, not much of a techie, but know enough to get myself around the net/odesk, I would just like to ask if its necessary to download all the tools to my computer, or pwede yung mga kailangan ko lang muna? Thanks!

I think now they all come in one pack po so wala po tayong choice kundi i-download lahat. (When I started, oDesk Team lang po ang ininstall ko.) Besides, automatic po yang naga-update (without asking first and with no option to close the auto-update) so even if isa lang ang i-install mo today, eventually the entire pack will be installed sa pc mo. Kainis nga minsan kasi di ko naman ginagamit ang oDesk Share, etc. Hope this helps.

just go to payment method and click mastercard, you will be link to Payonner, open an account. After 3 weeks you will receive your Odesk mastercard.

Thanks for your reply...I did not contact payoneer support but i decided to do the Payoneer registration another day...when i did, okay naman na..siguro noon nagloloko dahil nataon kasing undergoing maintenance ang oDesk. May notification na sa akin na approve na yung payoneer and that they will be sending me the card. Pagdating subukan ko din gamitin yun sa SM Baguio and other establishments na ok ang mastercard. By the way, I have a $ acct at BDO, pwede kayang doon ang payout? Will appreciate any info. Salamat manen Ading!

Nice to see may tagaBaguio rito - taga Baguio rin po ako. Yup I was able to use Payoneer in several establishments in the city. It's a mastercard. I hope you had followed my link here: Philippine Payment Methods
You cannot actually transfer Payoneer funds to BDO or any bank. However you can withdraw funds from BDO ATMs - basta Mastercard ATM pwede sa Payoneer.
If you are considering setting up Paypal, di rin pwede ang dollar account transfers din doon, you can just transfer funds which Paypal automatically converts in Pesos.

Sa wakas dumating din yung Payoneer debit Mastercard, after more than a month na paghihintay since approval nung June 4th...Whew! I was ecstatic to use my card, at hayun okay naman...I tried to withdraw some cash from BPI atm, then naggrocery ako sa SM, and other stuff sa Watsons. Its a good feeling for a stay-at-home mom na katulad ko, tasting the fruits of my virtual labor....
I wish the best for all kababayans here at oDesk...

Para sa akin wala naman siningil ang kartero. Di ko lang nagamit agad noon, kasi di ako active sa oDesk ng ilang buwan. Pero pag meron ng naka load doon na pera dun pa lang sila mag-cha-charge. $3 kung wala kang transaction for one month, $1 if meron kang (2 or more daw? - pls verify with payoneer).
Effective yun mastercard, pinang -go-grocery ko yun at mall. Kasi walang charge, tapos online access. Unlike pag nai-withdraw mo ang pera na laman noon. As compared sa Paypal, mas mataas ang exchange rates nila.
Yung quota mo, per week naman yan. If you have 5 jobs this week, then you can add 5 more next week. Total of 10 candidacies per week, kung wala ka pang interviews.

Ako nahirapan ako nung una.
Joined: October 2007, applied for some jobs, but I became inactive (I was employed). I got my Payoneer card after a month of joining.
Active ulit ako ng January 2008, I applied to more than a dozen jobs. Got dozens of frustrating job rejections.
Nahirapan ako, siguro dahil sa profile ko, hindi complete. So I completed it with all the portfolio details. This took me a day.
Then yung cover letters ko, I followed the tips dito sa oDesk - customize letters per job, answer the questions, make it "speak" to the buyer.
Tapos nagkaroon ako ng INTERVIEW, nagtatatalon ako sa tuwa! I was nervous when I spoke to the buyer. Di ko rin alam gagawin ko.
Then di kami nag usap agad ni buyer. I followed up. He hired me for two jobs - pero natuloy na lang ang isang job.
When he gave the job to me, I was really excited. Todo-todo work! That was on February 2008.
And then... the rest follows, tuloy-tuloy ang work! :-)
Update: But right now, my issue is on sustaining work. Medyo konti lang ang programming jobs ngayon (chosen interest ko), so I had to find ways. Di tulad nung after first job, sunod-sunod ang interviews at nagkaroon ako ng marami akong buyer-initiated interviews.

Ang galing! Interview ka kaagad! Wow! Congrats! Ang bilis hehe. At least nalagpasan mo ang step 1. Siguro di ka na tumalon sa tuwa, kasi ako tumalon talaga, ang hirap kaya makakuha ng first interview! Malaki ang chances kung ikaw lang ang nasa interview list niya.
Go to your next goal then, habulin mo ang buyer!
Fixed fee? Unless kilala mo na ang buyer delikado pa rin ang fixed fee kasi walang escrow services dito di tulad ng ibang sites. Yung isa kong job pina convert ko ng hourly rate (kinausap ko ang buyer), kasi may fear siya baka di matapos ang job. Pareho lang kasi talo ang buyer at provider sa fixed price jobs.
Ang fear ng buyer is yung delivery ng work. Unlike hourly rates na kelangan mo mag-log online sa oDesk team, yung fixed rate pwede mo gawin offline - so walang nakikita ang buyer na screenshots ng accomplished work mo.
Since first time buyer siya (I understand his fear), we talked about setting a time limit hanggang maabot ko ang bid price ko. Tina-try ko mag work within sa time limit na yun.
Pero, I have fixed price jobs too. Meron naman kasing mga buyers na tapat naman. And once that you have established trust with a buyer, baka tuloy-tuloy na ang projects mo.

Joseph po pangalan ko. Bago lang sa oDesk. Transcription yung skill ko. As of now, natapos ko na po ung first assignment ko with a client and tanong ko lang kung ung nakalagay sa assignment page ko ay ako mismo ung maglalagay ng End Assignment tag kapag naipasa ko na ung file assigned to me nung client. Kasi natapos ko na nga ung file kaso nakalagay pa rin sa assignment ko ay ACTIVE, meaning hindi pa tapos.
Pakiclarify naman po. Thanks ng marami.

Hi Joseph, pag fixed price, its important na hintayin mo muna send ng buyer yung payment sayo through oDesk bago ma-end yung assignment. Hindi ka mababayaran sa closed assignment
Usually naman the buyer ends it pag tapos na yung project and payment is sent successfully.

Thanks po sa tip. Sensya na medyo matagal bago ako nakapagreply. Medyo busy sa regular job tapos meron pa me odesk job. Yun di ko na malaman kung anong oras ako matutulog.
Anyway, meron ako ngayon tinanggap, per audio file ung bayad, nakaka 4 audios na ako. Magtatampo ba ung buyer kung hihingi kaagad ako ng bayad or hintayin ko na lang na magaccumulate ung total ng audio files at matapos ung project before ako humingi ng bayad.
Iniisip ko kasi baka magtampo ung buyer pag humingi ako ng bayad na sa tapos ko ng audio files.

May nagbigay sa akin ng job, though ala instructions pa. Pano ko malalaman kung ano ba needs nya? Nagemail na ako sa kanya e. Yung isang job nila ang inaplyan ko, dun ako niaccept sa isa. Hinde ko pa alam gagawin ko. Buti meron nito forum na eto. Hanap ako extra raket pag dito ako sa house after office. lam nyo naman ang hirap ng buhay at sorry sa mga guys, us girls need to have our own source of moolah. mahirap umasa. Pwede ba makahingi ng walkthrough sa pag start ng first assignment. Tapos, meron nagooffer naman sa akin ng ibang type of work. hinde pa nipost sa odesk. pwede kya na bank account ng tatay ko sa US na lang pag depositohan ng pera? Pwede ba magkaibang pc gamitin ko minsan sa isang job? Salamat!!!

i joined odesk last february of 2008 and I had my first job ngayon lng april 26. Dumating ung payoneer card ko April 22 bago pa ako magkaroon ng first assignment. I just filled up my profile and made it to 100%, feeling ko dun yata ako natanggap for my 1st assignment.

how can I apply odesk mastercard, I can't see the payment method tab under "billing & payment". bago lang ako dito sa odesk, wala pa ako employer at nangangapa pa ako about odesk policies

Baka na overlook: try again by Billing and Payments, then sa left side ng page under Billing and Payments (din) makikita mo ang link na Payment Methods. You should see Payments and Withdrawals tab, pero Payments ang naka-default. Click mo Withdrawals tab para makita mo ang link para makapag apply ng Payoneer card.
Ang possible payments methods sa Pinas is - Payoneer, Paypal, Moneybookers at wire transfer. Para sa US providers ang ACH withdrawals.

Although maliit pa yung earnings ko, wnidraw ko n xa and that's $24. So calculate ko, bale $2 for odesk at $3 for Payoneer. Loaded n nga ang card ko in two hours pero naubos naman ang laman. I was expecting sana to wdraw at least Php800 something for that day pero Php 292 n lng ang nakita kong laman. Paano po kaya nangyari iyon? Please help. Thanks

Yes, there are charges associated with the Payoneer account. Maliit rin nakuha ko the first time around. Pero naglagay na ako ng tips sa blog.

depende sa requirement ng buyer n inaaplyan nyo po,
kung gusto nya mag cam to cam kayo during interview
or gusto magkausap using voice..
sana may pinoy na mag top d2 sa oDesk,

Salamat kakabayan sa lagi nyong suporta. nag register ako sa odesk dahil gusto ko lang subukan ang freelancing, never thought na makatanggap ako ng project. kaso, kulang ako sa knowledge kung paano ako mag-communicate sa net, kaya naunsyami yung first project ko sana.
may nais pa akong malaman, ang ginamit kung pangalan sa odesk ay di totoo kung pangalan dahil hindi ko gustong ma compromise ang kasalukuyan kong trabaho. ang tanong ko, hindi kaya ako magkaka-problema sa payment mag meron na akong project?

Sana noh? Possible ata yan sa kung full time providers. But once in a while meron din akong nakikitang 2 providers sa list (I don't know if active pa sila).
Kadalasan kasi ginagawang part time ang pag -fi- freelance kasi sa atin - I think!

yep, I agree, and also, need talaga ng time management
and dapat maging maganda performance sa work, para
pagtapos ng assignment, maging maganda ang feedback
na makukuha..
disadvantage nga lang, depends sa client mo kung wat
ang time zone,... puyat ako lagi.. huhuhu...
pero oki lang, mabait naman current client ko..
