Hello po! Ang ganda nyo naman! Welcome po sa oDesk!
I have a few suggestions lang po which hopefully ay makakatulong sa inyong job hunt dito.
I think it would be good po for now if you would concentrate sa isang skill or a few skills na talagang magaling kayo and then expand na lang po later on.
This is what helped me get my first job here. Sa first project ko po, I used the template the buyer gave as an attachment tapos I provided a few lines po ng mga info na hinahanap niya para makita niya na kaya ko talagang gawin yung work.
4) Really work hard po para ma-maintain yung quality ng work output niyo and para ma-please po yung mga magiging buyers niyo para po may maganda po kayong feedback na matatanggap which will lead to more jobs in the future.
5) Be prepared po for your interview. Minsan po through email lang ito or chat. Yung iba naman po, tatawagan kayo through Skype, Yahoo Messenger, or Google Talk.
6) Basahin niyo po yung oDesk Handbook and itong blog na 'to.
Hope this helps po. Wait lang po kayo and try to further improve your skills (e.g., typing, writing) while waiting. Yung iba po sa mga kababayan natin dito, isa o dalawang buwan po bago nakakuha ng first assignment nila while yung iba po isang linggo lang or even a few days lang, may first job na sila. Medyo grabe po kasi ang competition dito so you really have to excel in what you do para po mapansin ng mga buyers.
Just email me po if you need more help. Sana po makahanap po kayo ng trabaho dito and ma-enjoy niyo yung magiging working relationship niyo with your buyers. God bless and ingat po!
Nice picture. Haha.
Nagsusulat ka pala ng blog. I think it will be easier for you to enhance your skills in writing. Then apply to writing jobs. Mas malaki ang chance for you to secure your first job - kasi mas kaunti ang candidates for each job.
If you will notice napakaraming data entry candidates, so competition can be stiff - because there are many who can do the job.
So this is through my experience. I applied for data entry jobs, but I ended up on programming/web page din. Kasi mas konti ang nag aaply, so there is a greater chance.
And yes, face value - nakaka attract yan (ok, my secret's out) din yan ng buyer, on secondary thought!
Of course, hindi lahat mag-wo-work sa face. For others meron silang "professional avatar" to represent their work. Pero ito hype lang, just to make your profile noticed.
And if you do great cover letters, mas ok yan.

With all due respect. But I never consider looking for and finding a job as 'easily'.
Unless you have an MBA, PhD or your Bill Gates, finding a job will certainly be not easy.
Take a long hard look at yourself. And ask yourself these questions.
Am I the kind of provider that companies and clients will hire and look for?
What are my strengths? What are my weaknesses? What is the one thing I can provide and do that a thousand providers cannot do?
Can i communicate well enough to a client so that the project can go smoothly and be a success?
Is there a way so that I can improve myself further as to make me a better provider?
It's that plain and simple.
Now, if you don't know what I am talking about, then there must be something wrong with you.
Thank you.
