You're welcome and I'd like to welcome you here.

I like that you have a portfolio, but there are a couple of things I did notice that put me off.  First you gave yourself a five out of five for English skills and yet you have some very basic spelling and word confusion errors in your portfolio.  You used 'there' for 'their' and mispelled 'professional.'

That's a problem because it doesn't reflect the score you gave yourself.

The other problem I saw was that you didn't score well on the Office Skills test, or the Adobe Indesign brainbench certification.  I'd recommend taking some more relevant tests on oDesk and hiding the lower scores, as most buyers see scores below 80% or so as a hindrance rather than a help.

Get some better scores and maybe add a picture of yourself.  That would help your profile.

In the meantime, go with very focused cover letters that show you are both interested in that specific job and that you understand exactly what the buyer wants.

That will go a long way toward getting you over the hump.

I filled my profile but I would really like to know how can I get a job on this field?

Please add skills to your

Please add skills to your profile, work samples to your portfolio, and take some oDesk tests to prove your skills. After you've done that, you'll need to become oDesk Ready. Only then can you apply to jobs on oDesk.

I am also new, I have

I am also new, I have applied for several jobs, majority relating to data entry but I do not know where I am going wrong because so far I have not received any positive feedback. The only feedback i received was for one job about a rejection because my bid was so high. I have not taken several tests though, I only took two tests and planning to do more tests, apart from the tests, profile and cover letter how else can I make my profile to be marketable?

Tests, Profile, Cover Letter, and Portfolio

A picture is good, because it changes you from just a name on a list to a human being, and a Portfolio also helps, especially if you don't have feedback.

Hi Donna,

The start with the most important thing is first have a good portfolio, take tests.

While applying for jobs, read the job postings and try to read between the lines. Try to find what the buyer wants and post him with relevant queries or comments. Dont just use a standard template.

That's it for now.

Bye
