a lot of unnecessary questions????
Hi there, not sure if this is a problem or not, however I was slightly concerned at the amount of info that this buyer was looking for. The buyer seems to be above board as has a very positive feedback and numerous ongoing jobs. The questions / stipulations are below... let me know what ye think.
1. Is between the ages of 24-34
2. Is unmarried without children
3. Is willing to work 24+ days per month
4. Is willing to work 60-70 hours per week
5. Has at least 2 degrees
6. Was at the top of your class
7. Has an IQ no less than 125
8. Experience in establishing distribution channels
9. Experience in software development oversight (not actual development but the processes involved.)
10. Is seeking a long-term position
11. Is in excellent physical health
12. Is willing to work for the first year without a vacation.
13. Is willing to start on a part-time basis for the first 30 days during probation period and while you compete for the position with at least one other person.
14. Is seeking compensation commensurate to the value they contribute

yep, I thought that
yep, I thought that myself... have just flagged it... it sounds like an add for a wife in some areas... seems unusual considering the buyer is well established on Odesk.
It is weird
and maybe I'm over-reacting (or overly sensitive about age who knows) but this is such a bizarre request I've never heard anything like it!
1095625 is the job
1095625 is the job reference, take a look.. if it hasn't already been removed.. I only posted bits of the opening
oddly
Enough almost every one of the jobs he posts have some violation in them - contact info being the most common
What makes this one even more interesting is the site he's supposedly looking for someone to promote has to do with kids internet safety so why is he looking for a single person with no kids...makes 0 sense to me...Personal assistant my FOOT!
very very suspect... I took
very very suspect... I took a look at the attachment.. parts of that are also written very crudely.. this post better be moved soon
I'm glad the job is gone,
I'm glad the job is gone, but I can actually see a reason behind the requirements for excellent health, relative youth, and single status. He's looking for something between 1.5 and 1.75 FTEs (full-time equivalents) for a solid year from one person.
Anyone working that many hours for that amount of time would need to be in excellent health and have no commitments. They'd be worked to death otherwise.
Definitely not the job to apply for.
Garbage

I think the requirements are a crock of garbage to be frank about it. Anyone can make those commitments if they want to whether they're single or not. As far as age, health - a brick and mortar employer couldn't ask you those questions (and naturally children and marital status are off limits as well)....I think they've got a lot of nerve coming in with those types of requirements.
Thank you anyone who flagged

Weird indeed
I would not rely much on positive feedback too... especially if that kind of buyer treats oDesk as some kind of dating site - maybe he does not have luck with those dating sites, so he is trying to make his way here. His requirements are even worse than those that are required in dating sites!
It is possible that the buyer traded feedback to his providers - it is possible - "I give you positive feedback if you give me positive feedback thing too".
I think job is for army
Hi everyone.
I think he is recruiting someone as a captain for army thats why he is asking such type of questions. So anyone who wants to be a captain, apply for the job.

I wouldn't even post for it. What the devil is he looking for someone to build something for NASA. Give me a break. Most traditional EMPLOYERS can't ask you these questions let alone would. There are a couple of 'hot buttons' in this one - age, unmarried with children - perhaps their looking for a partner...no way. I'd flag this one as a violation myself.
