first job
Hey ,
I am new in here and i would like to know whether it is possible for me to get a job.Basicaly i am just a student, so i don't have any professional expereince as such in writing.Is it still possible to get a job?
Write a Killer Cover Letter
You may not have a lot of writing experience, but as a writer you do have one advantage. Your cover letter will showcase your skills to the buyer.
If you write a good enough cover letter that may well be enough to convince a buyer that you can do the job. It's almost part of your portfolio all by itself.
If you have good portfolio and no grammatical or spelling mistakes on your profile you should do fine. Once you get some jobs on oDesk behind you the rest should follow.
As you don't have any
As you don't have any experience it is difficult for you to get a job but not impossible.
What i would suggest is you can write nice, impressive cover letters. Plus you can also show sample writing so the buyer can atleast evaluate your skills on that basis.

Honestly, you'll probably
Honestly, you'll probably have difficulty if you don't have 'real world' experience. Freelancers are expected to be professionals - ready to hit the ground running with experience and skills to do the job with little instruction.
That said, you may very well have enough skill to get started. If you can post some good samples to your portfolio, you'll have a good chance at some of the job postings. The key is to have a great portfolio - and write excellent cover letters.
Personally, my entire uploaded portfolio consists of work done while I was a student - 2 class assignments, 2 student magazine articles, and 1 co-op work project (like a paid internship).
