Cannot connect to the Odesk Team..SOS!

We have connected two of our PCs with LAN and now I am unable to log in at the Odesk Team. However, my husband (vmarathe) is able to work
without any problems of logging in from our other computer. I am posting this SOS message through his computer.

As per your tips, I tested my connection and it gives the following message:

 12007 - HttpSendRequestEx

Please help me at the earliest.

Regards,

Nandini

Can you connect to the

Can you connect to the internet on the problem computer? I ask because you say you've gotten on to ask for help from a different computer. If you can't connect to the internet (for example, to visit http://www.odesk.com) you won't be able to log in with Team.

If your internet connection is working, please submit a help ticket and include your log file as per the directions on the 'test your connection' help page. Customer support has more information about the error messages and can pass your log onto engineering for help, if necessary.

Same Problem

Hello,

I'm having the same problem. My net connection is fine. Here is the error that the oDesk Team "Test Connection" is giving:

Sending request at 12:54:12
URL: team.odesk.com/team/client/receiver
Protocol: HTTPS
Port: 443
Upload speed: no limit
Timeout: 180 s

Received response at 12:54:33

Connection FAILED

Error: 12029 - HttpSendRequestEx (can not connect)

Yours Sincerely

Error 12007 means 'host name

Error 12007 means 'host name is not resolved'. Something wrong with DNS on your computer, I think... You need to setup your computer that you will able to open team.odesk.com from your IE.

Error 12029 means 'can non connect'. If you use proxy - you need to setup it in Preferences->HTTPS Proxy. Please also check your firewall - possible it blocks oDesk Team.

No Proxy, No Firewall

Hi. Thanks for replying.

I don't use a proxy, and I disabled my firewall. It still gives the same error.

I booted into Linux, and oDesk team worked fine.

However, when I type in http://team.odesk.comU9, it refuses to connect both on Linux, as well as XP.

When you will able to open

When you will able to open https://team.odesk.com in your Internet Explorer - oDesk Team will work fine.

You need to find why team.odesk.com is unaccessable for you. Some network filter disable access for you, may be team.odesk.com is blocked for your network (please ask your system administrator), etc...

Solved

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

The problem was with my ISP. Suddenly they had a problem whereby I couldn't connect to certain sites. I tried pinging the sites, and nothing.

I raised a help ticket with them, and it's solved now. I can access https://team.odesk.com from my browser, and the oDesk team tool is also working.

 Thank you,

 Yours Sincerely

Glad to hear you got this
