where I work

I have my desk in a corner of the dining room and my laptop beside my desktop.  I usually do most work on the desktop, leaving the laptop to run my email etc.  If I have to work anywhere else I do it on the laptop.

Where I work

I have converted an unused bedroom into my office.  I have the pc and all office items in there as well as a tv (w/cable, of course) phone, and a nice little lounge area consisting of a sofa, chair, ottoman, etc.  I love it.  If it had a fridge, coffee maker, and instant pizza delivery, I'd never leave Smiling

Same Office!

I have the same set up but some different items. I have two desk with each having a desktop and printer on it with phones. I  have a big file cabinet to keep my records though. But of course then I have my tv and radio in one area. Then of course that leaves the iguana cage. I set up a spare bedroom into my office. Cant do with out the office.

Where I work

I too work from the corner of a room, using a Desktop.

By the way, where is the work ??  Hunting ....

The subject  should be Where is the work. Smiley

I 'll try my best

I want tosuccess in my life..For this I 'll work hard

I have my own office...kind

I have my own office...kind of.  It's loft apartment, so everything is open, but I'm upstairs.  The bed's up here too, but the way my officespace is setup, I have dividers and a clear separation from the rest of the place...so yeah.  I'm oblivious to what goes on in the rest of the apartment.

I do have the odesk team installed on my laptop, but I haven't used it yet for work...all work is done at my desk.  One of these days, I'm gonna work use the laptop...but the laptop doesn't have two monitors, so I keep finding myself at the desk.  Eye-wink

LOL

I know the feeling-- I have two monitors on the desktop too.

Maybe I should see about hooking the secondary up to the laptop occasionally?

haha

I'm just too lazy go through untangling the mess of wires below my desk to do that! lol.

Well my monitor has a second connection

I use DVI on the desktop-- and the monitors have DVI and VGA inputs so I could always hook the laptops VGA out to one of the monitors' VGA ins without disturbing the desktop.

Smiling

Yeah, my primary monitor is

Yeah, my primary monitor is DVI, but the second monitor is still a CRT, so only VGA on that one.

I just need to buy 2 or 3 new monitors.  *does tim allen ala home improvement grunt*

My workspace

My workspace is basically either at my fulltime job (shhh don't tell anybody!) Smiley , downstairs at my home on the laptop, or at anyone's computer that has an Internet connection when I'm away.   That's the great thing about oDesk, it gives you the flexibility to work anywhere!

I work on my MacBook Pro

I work on my MacBook Pro wherever I am. Today, that's a hotel in Australia. Since joining oDesk in January, I've worked in a hotel in Brazil, a friend's house in Oregon, my parent's home in Virgina, my in-law's in Alabama, half a dozen airports, and the house I pay the mortgage on but rarely see in the lovely Adirondack's of New York State. I've got a nice home office there with a second monitor that I set up in March but haven't gotten to use yet. Luckily, I upgraded from my old 12 inch iBook to a 17 inch MacBook Pro at the same time. When I have to stare at this all day, that extra screen real estate makes a huge difference!

Thanks to oDesk, I was was able to quite my salaried day job in an office to travel with my husband. He's a field engineer so we go wherever his boss sends him. As long as they'll be Internet there, I come work with all of you, and still get to see him every night.

Home Office

At present, I have a separate room in the house which serves as a home office. As I am writing this, I'm using my laptop, an HP Pavilion dv4025ea, an ancient laptop by today's tech standards, beside it is my HP Deskjet F2180 All in One Printer, Scanner, Copier.
In the other corner of the room is my wife's desktop PC. A modest 512MB RAM generic PC. Only in my dreams can I own a MacBook Pro or any Mac for that matter.
I work from my laptop most. Kind of slow though compared to the desktop. This is where my Graphic Tablet is installed. It's installed in the desktop too but problems with the system making the cursor shake.
In between the two computers is my drawing table where I draw and sketch.
Quite modest equipment but it gets the job done and serves their purpose. Worth every cent.

And I think that's it.

What is your work place like

My desktop is in the living room.
Where we watch TV.

One Room

My wife and I live in one room.  I work in it.

The same goes here...

However I love my present work place...

Same here. I get envious

Same here. I get envious reading about separate rooms or the garden with oak trees Eye-wink.

Where I work

I have a separate room in the house with the desk PC in it.  This is for rainy days.  I work on the laptop in the front yard in the shade of several oak trees.  Am I going to need two monitors??

I don't know about need...

You may never need two monitors, most people don't.  Having said that I've been a multi-monitor person for about five years now and it really helps my productivity.  It's not simply that it gives you more screen real estate (which it does) but it also helps with organization.

It helps me.

Need two monitors

Thanks for that information.  I'll know more once I start working I imagine.

@->--Caroline

I never seen like this!

It's a nice friendly separate space or room (oDesk) for me where I can get various help to do my job.

I am in my room

I have separate room where I have 2 computer. One with Window xp and other with Mac. After coming back from office I can only be found in my room Smiling

We have a desktop set up

We have a desktop set up (along with printer, phone, etc) in the dining room, next to the kitchen. We don't use the dining room to eat in, it's really our "office". We eat in the living room most of the time.

oDesk office in my bedroom

I have a separate desk with my pc on it beside the bed. I like working in the bedroom so that I can just crawl to my bed to sleep and crawl back to my desk to work again. This is the nicest thing with oDesk. I can work anytime I want--even with rumpled hair and clothes:)

Haha, you're not the only

Haha, you're not the only one. I also put a couch in mine. When I'm taking a break, I can just crawl from my chair to my couch and relax. If things keep getting better on oDesk I might even put in a small fridge. Smiley

I have a separate room in the house

I work in a separate room which was used for storage. It doesn't look like an office but it is enough that i am working alone with minimal distractions. I hope in the future i would have my own office with employees to help me with my clients Smiling

My Home Office

I have a Home Office in a spare bedroom that also has it's own bathroom. In my apartment in West Hollywood, CA. It Has a main desk with primary self built desktop computer with Windows Vista, that I have networked to four other computers that are behind me in a Console/cabinet. These four computers are all connected to the same monitor, keyboard & mouse with a KVM switch. My AIO printer is also in this space, Also I have a laptop that I use in the bedroom, also connected to the network. I have two spare flat panel monitors in a storage cabinet. Everything has it's place, I have small dorm size fridge & seating/reading  area. It's my favorite room.

Question and comment

My office in West Hollywood is so small that if I open the door it hits my desk LOL.  But why on earth would you need 5 computers?

Kinda need to improve your English to fit your target position: "Data Entry, Research, Office/Admin Assistant CA, USA - Freelance Data Entry Professional"

Office move pending

For now, it's a section of my bedroom.  Soon it should be in an extra room at the back of the house.  I'm gearing up for the dual monitor thing as well.

Other Odesk Office Space

I use a corner of my living room/bedroom to setup my desktop machine. That space is my odesk office.

Work Space

I have an office in my house that is for office work only.  I have a desktop computer and a laptop.  I have all the necessary equipment for running an office, which makes it convenient and time productive, allowing me to give prompt results.  My laptop gives me the freedom to work away from the office and that's a big plus, because I don't want to miss anything.  Smiley

The perfect office

I should consider myself lucky!  My husband is the "IT Dept." where he works, and we have 11 CPU's in the house!  Our home office is at the "quiet end" of our house, away from traffic noise etc.  Our desks are really old doors with 4 metal filing cabinets under them, so I have lots of room to put my two working computers side by side on my desk.  I face one wall, and my husband is right behind me (with his back to me) facing the opposite wall.  Each work station has four shelves for boxes of software, reams of paper and everything a person working on a computer could want within arm's reach!

We have a bathroom that we share, (mind you we have separate work stations, if I don't have something for my station, I don't borrow from him! I have to go buy it for myself.)  We each have a telephone, mine is the regular house phone; but his has it's own number.  Should someone call Scott on the house number (my telephone)  I simply tell them that Scott is at the "office" and his number is XXX-XXXX!

We have a refrigerator, sink, water dispenser (cold and hot water) microwave, and an Espresso machine!  In what was the closet (we removed the door and used it for one of the desks) we have all the network equipment, a TV set, and a fax/copy/scanner machine that we both use.

Our office chairs are big comfortable reclining rockers, and all too often I hear snoring behind me, and I know my husband is taking a little "nap break" (as he calls it).  All in all, we have the best office set up you might imagine....now if it only had a king size bed! (wink, wink).

I have my own office

I have my own office and i work with my laptop.

I work in my office 12 hours.

Where I work is everywhere!

Now, I have my own place in my room as working area (table, swivel chair, lights, etc).Smiley  The good thing about this area is that it is near the window so I can look at the arriving plane to our international airport. Smiley

We have a desk in one of the corners of our living room.

Where I work?

We have a separate room in our house that serves as our office and study room for our children.  The computer is turned on from sunrise to sunset.  I do online banking, bills payment, shopping etc at the convenience of our home.
