Contact Info
I understand as per oDesk rules we are not supposed to give our contact ids (messenger ids and email ids) when we apply for a job and oDesk passes those on to the buyer. In recent days I have observed that candidates are posting messages on the job openings they apply for giving their contact information. Is that allowed? It puts the people who follow rules strictly at a disadvantage. Please clarify urgently.

on Thu, 2008-08-28 11:32.The best thing to do actually visit the job message board - on the board there's a direct link to flag as inappropriate. Or submit a help ticket and include the job details/offending message (copy/pasting or screensnapping the email you received should do the trick).

A person who doesn't care for rules wouldn't be genuine either. Most of them even sound phony. Flagging such posts is the best thing to do.

You are absolutely right
You are absolutely right that this giving out contact info before the interview phase is not allowed. There's a link to flag the message board post as inappropriate. Please report users who are posting contact info.
