hi all! im a newbie here and i am still exploring Odesk...my problem is i dont know how to update my profile, such as adding my portfolio and basic information about myself....i feel foolish asking this question but i really cant find it

 pls help!

Hi - you need to go to your oDesk main page and click on the white My Odesk tab at the top left of the page -

 

 ...then click Profile and Settings on the right hand side of the page in the blue bar along the top.   Click the word Change to edit your personal information and the yellow edit buttons to change anything within those fields. (see below)

 

 Don't forget to save it when ur done.

Unless there is something

Unless there is something that you forgot to include in the application letter - or a reply to an additional requirements added by Buyer (or posted on the message board), there is no need to post a public message in addition to the application.

i don't quite understand the mail @Odesk.com...my guess is that its in MY MESSAGE CENTER..every mail sent thru apaullo@odesk.com  is in there? or its in another email account that i have to sign in first?

Only messages from oDesk (interviews, new assigments, withdrawals, etc) is shown in the message center.  All other emails sent to your @odesk.com email is forwarded to the email address you have on file here.

i have my first assignment! it is currently active on MY ASSIGNMENTS page, but i have NO IDEA how to start! he just hired me without interview so i have no idea how to contact him! i have some questions but i have no idea where to reach him, can someone help or show me how to reach this buyer? this is my first assignment and i want to look good!!

you can check your Message

you can check your Message Center, and under Account Alerts, you'll get a 'Assignment ###### has begun'.... open that and you'll find the buyer's contact information

Here's the directions for leaving feedback on an ended job.

You may search by Job Opening ID using the usual job search box. Make sure you select all jobs in case it's in progress, ended, or cancelled. But the job will not show up if the buyer has made it private. Please note that it has to be the Job Opening ID, not the candidacy ID or the assignment ID. And if you've already applied to the job it'll still be there in My Candidacies for you to look at.

another question again though...

 when the buyer left a feedback on you with one particular assignment...of course it would show up in your work history and feedback...but not in your account profile feedback? i mean at the top part of your profile feedback. i just though itll be the with the work feedback

It'll show up in both places

It'll show up in both places - but the two sections of the profile are actually updated on different schedules. The overall feedback score is usually only updated once a day, I think. If the overall profile rating doesn't appear by tomorrow, please submit a help ticket.

actually the feedback from the work history appeared last night, and its been 12 hours sice the appearance but still no profile feedback...ill wait for 24 hours before submitting a help ticket..
