Tests you've passed are

Tests you've passed are completely useless (like word 2003 or Windows XP ones), and even if they would be good for finding a job - most of buyers expect to get people with tests completed of top20% rating or higher (for writing jobs there are enough of people with much better results of english grammar test). etc etc etc

With your current tests, title chosen for profile, IMHO you have no chances with your current profile Smiling

I don't see how you can

I don't see how you can improve your profile for such type of jobs, except of getting better test results for at least english grammar.

Considering how competitive

Considering how competitive Data Entry field is at oDesk, focus on something that can help you stand out - research may be. List it in your profile what type of research you have done, maybe even the methods and tools you used. Think of putting up search results or case studies in your portfolio. And, definitely work on improving your tests results - or take more certifications on Brainbench and link those from your oDesk profile. Anything that make you a better choice than hundreds of other data entry providers (a lot of them with lower hourly rates).

Please note that polishing your profile is just the first step. It is vital to write excellent cover letters and really wow the buyer. You have to prove your value. Here's some more resources for newbies:

cool tips

Olga,

Thanks for the tips. I was reading through and noticed your mentioned of the Portfolio. For some reason I'd totally overlooked that portion of my profile. I've now put some samples in there. I hope that helps once I start applying for some work.

Cheers!

Melanie
