what could be wrong?

only an Odesk buyer can tell if he/she prefer a programmer with impressive test results.

 

I don't personally thing that tests are the only reason a buyer would prefer a provider.

An Odesk buyer won't tell you anything if he/she is not impessed by your test results, he/she will simply choose another provider with better tests/scores.

Just exclude the reason by passing tests with good scorees and find out if there were other reasons.

If I have to pass test to see that, what is the reason for existing of this forum? I wanted to know about the people who already have experience about it. 

Enovator, people already told you the reason. And there could be only 2 reasons - your test scores and cover letter quality. And by looking on low test scores in your profile i can suppose that your skills are considered to be not enough by buyers.

P.S. Excellent test results are 95% of winning the job. By excellent results i mean score of 90-95% and higher.

    Experience about what? Passing or not passing the tests?  Well, I can share such experience. I passed quite a lot of tests and I feel good about that. Also there are many tests I did not pass yet and I feel bad about that. Hope this helps you.

there are many providers on odesk who have been hired many times and have more than 1 assignment at their hands, who didn't  pass even a single test nor they have any portfolio( I am talking about graphic/web designer). what will you say about it?

They may be working as affiliates under Provider Company, or they may have old and proven relations with buyer outside of oDesk and chosen oDesk only as platform for project management and payment fulfillment. Or dumping the price, or .... there are many ways.

Everything depends on you - your test scores, your impression on buyers. If they are not enough from your side - you are being missed by buyer's choice.

If those little things are the reasons why I am not being hired many times, you should have many assignments in your profile. 

sgoble has spent her time providing you with the great feedback on your profile, and instead of "Thank you" she receives the sarcastic comment from you. Something's wrong with your attitude buddy; yes, passing tests won't help you to get "hired more than a few times" a year. If I were a buyer I would blacklist you forever.

Others are, they did not hire you, did they? 

I joined oDesk 2 years ago, and immediately became too busy with other writing sites to apply for any jobs here. I've been active for a bit over a month, and have an assignment.

My pay rate is too high for those "Write my blog for cheap" and "Write a bazillion articles for cheap" buyers - I can make more money writing that stuff and selling it elsewhere.
