i would like to transfer the money i earned through odesk to my sister who is residing in US and holds a US bank account.i would like to know whether that would lead to any complications....i am residing in india..please reply as soon as possible.

You may try submitting a help ticket to request an exception to the ACH for US providers only rule. The support team would probably need to speak with both you and your sister, so even if they grant an exception, it would take longer than the paypal option.

I don't think that's possible.
You can only transfer your money to accounts that is under your name. If you try to transfer it to your sister's US bank account, it will be rejected.
If you both have Paypal, you can transfer it accordingly below:
oDesk -> Your Paypal -> Your sister's Paypal -> Your sister's US bank account
You will only be charged for $1 due to the funds transfer from oDesk to Paypal based on what I read about payment methods.
