Macintosh Setup-HELP!!!!!!!
Mac user, cannot figure out how to download OTools, Oshare either. Actually, it downloads them, but won't let me connect or open. I did the diagnostic and it said I need Internet explorer, so I downloaded it but it's funky, the view is all messed up, on any site. I use Safari, also the diagnostic said I need to enable tunnelling, and i've searched and searched online and don't know what that means. O checked in prefs for Safari, and my Mac prefs too. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a G5 with plenty of memory, but it is telling me
Secure Socket Layer Support is not available
That my Connection to port Failed - error getting socket
Surely many of ther providers are on a Mac?????
Can someone please clet me know if you have encountered mac problems ad how you resolved them.
Thanks
Elaine H
Thanks for responding
Sorry I never answered you, I did not see your response until today (had a death in the family and lost my job and with the holidays time got away from me), finally decided I am going to make this work no matter what!. I'm not sure what was causing those problems, but I have a call into the call center. Thanks for trying to help, I'll get it worked out..today I hope. Good to know it's possible. My system is Mac G5 OS X 10.4, so I just have to figure out how to get started. Thanks again and Happy New Year!
Okay this is what I got back from ODesk.

Thank you for contacting oDesk Support.
A user is typically unable to continue in our network when using and operating system we do not support. Feel free to use the oDesk community to ask users if they have found any work around that works for them. (http://www.odesk.com/community/)
Thank you again for the feedback, and please let me know if I can be of additional assistance.

Maybe you can help me figure out where to start?
Mac OS 10.3 is not longer
on Tue, 2009-01-06 02:06.Mac OS 10.3 is not longer supported, but 10.4 should be fine still. I need you to do these things and answer these questions to help you troubleshoot:
- Trash the applications you've downloaded & empty your trash.
- Download the oDesk Team client (use this link)
- Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag the oDesk Team client to your Applications folder.
- Double click oDesk Team in your Applications folder. Does the application open? (it should now appear in your dock) You cannot log in using the client because you don't have access to any Teams.
- Download Firefox if you don't already have it. Visit http://team.odesk.com/team/scripts/glass?.dfp=0&action=diagnostics using Firefox. The diagnostic doesn't work in Safari. Give it a minute to run the diagnostic. What do you see Configuration Check box?

10.3.9 support?
I know the current application for download is 10.4 and higher, but I have two Macs that both are only at 10.3.9. I've been invited to interview for a job posting, but without access to oDesk Team, I'm guessing I can't proceed.
... Any chance an older version of oDesk Team is available for us users that haven't updated their OS yet? I can't afford the new Mac OS, especially because it would stop me from running my older version of the Adobe CS Suite and the older Macromedia Suite...
I am on a Mac, and I have
I am on a Mac, and I have successfully used both the oDesk Team and the oDesk Share applications. What OS version are you using? The clients require OS 10.4+.
Are you certain you've downloaded the Mac versions? ( http://team.odesk.com/team/scripts/index?.dfp=0&action=download )The Windows clients won't work until you're running Windows on your Mac. Please note that only oDesk Team and oDesk Share are available for Mac (not the full oDesk Pack with ScreenSnap, etc.)
I'm not sure which diagnostic you mean - are you talking about http://team.odesk.com/team/scripts/glass?.dfp=0&action=diagnostics ? If so, what exactly did it say in the box under "configuration check"? The check requires Java but does work in Safari.
I realize that without an active team you can't connect using the oDesk Team client, but were you at least able to open the application? Just trying to figure out where, how, and what errors you're getting.
