I HATE The New Link Feature
Listen I want to know who the hell put in the feature that requires you to click the accept button before you go to an external link... so I can strangle him!
This is the WORST, most anger inducing, annoying and TIME CONSUMING feature I have ever seen... AND... IT DOESNT EVEN REDIRECT ME HALF THE TIME!
It just sits... "loading"
Not only is it annoying, not only is it time consuming but it doesnt even work properly. Last night I was stuck in some kind of infinite loop where no matter HOW many times I press the stupid button, it stillllll doesnt work.
I so fucking sick of this feature. At LEAST give me some way to turn the stupid thing off.
+1
LOL Man you're right!
One more pretty thing is the ability to make small DoS, just go to http://www.odesk.com/leaving_odesk.php?ref=http://www.odesk.com/leaving_odesk.php?ref= and check "always redirect" and Continue.
Absolutely stupid feature.
I am very sorry you missed
on Fri, 2008-10-31 00:22.I am very sorry you missed the option to turn off the new warning feature. Is it working for you now?
The redirect screen is intended make sure users understand they are leaving the oDesk site and to help prevent phishing attacks.
I have not previously heard about any redirect problems. Are others having this issue as well?

phishing
on Fri, 2008-10-31 01:11.We have had a couple of phishing attacks where Buyers have posted jobs with malicious links. A number of our providers have been caught by this, and very nearly lost funds.
This feature is designed to protect oDesk from scammers. All, should we make any changes to this feature?

I don't mind it...but it
I don't mind it...but it doesn't always work.
For example, a long url with a query string with multiple variables will not be redirected properly. I clicked on a link in a job description and it was something like something.com/index.php?foo=bar&blah=blahblah&spoon=gravy, and it got cut off after the first variable (foo=bar). I had to copy/paste the url from the description.
Unfortunately, I don't have a job id to show a live example right now.

Before you complain about rates, read all 4 parts of the oDesk Insider Blog's Make More Money series.
so you think
that cursing and swearing is the answer - read the screen there's a box that gives you the option to shut it off. Try to act like the professional you supposedly are.
