Suggestion :- Can we have a (international) meeting scheduler
Hi All,
I hope you would agree that with the advancement in techologies ,
geographical boundaries have ceased to exist. If at all there is a dividing line
I think it would certainly be the GMT .. the timezone.
we have buyers and providers all over the globe and each one
coordinating with the other halfway across the world, with a click of the mouse
sometimes, when we work with people ( both buyers & providers)
across timezones, it gets rather bit confusing to schedule an online session
Sometimes, weekly meetings become mandatory to ensure quick completion of a project.
Every meeting the last 15 min goes by talking -
Your time... this.. mm.. my time.. must be this
If one fails to write it and putup a sticky note
he /she is more likey to miss the meeting due to timezone confusion.
As oDesk has very well incoporated the "timezone"
into everyone's profile, wouldnt it be nice to have a meeting scheduler
that does all the timezone conversions
and gives the exact date and time ... at their respective local time format ?
Fellow oDesk users, wahts your take on this

We recently added "local time" to the Team Room for each user. You can see what time it is where each of your team members are working! I agree, a scheduler would be nice, but just easily knowing the local time is probably half the battle, no?

There are a number of tools that will do this for you (though obviously they're not oDesk integrated). My favorite free options are:

Thanks for the loads of suggesstions. Personally i would prefer World Meeting Planner , zero installation.
I was thinking on the lines of , having a scheduler within the team room ( with local time already on display).
Nothing hi fi ( host- date & time -- Selects users for meeting -- auto conversion of local date and time for the users)
But this is also good. Works for me !

Yup, i agree with you...we need to have some tool at oDesk site that will be showing either each providers and buyers time zones...or some other tool that will help to define someone's timezone...that will help understand each other better
For example i go to my team room while working...and see a clock running near each team member photo and i see....well in Ukraine (where i live) is 10 am and Australia where the Client is sutiated is almost night ))))
