Cost?
Probably just a silly newbie question. I'm interested in using oDesk to identify freelancers to use but how much will it actually cost me? I can't find the price details anywhere and I get nervous posting credit card details before knowing that. Thanks!

As the buyer, the rate you see is the rate you get - the 10% comes out of that rate. From the provider's point of view, the oDesk fee is certainly on top of their earnings, but throughout the marketplace, the rate you see on the provider profile or application in your candidate queue is the rate you pay, no additional fees.

Doreen's answer was straight to the point and I like that...she didn't pull a punch or run you around the block. She just gave you a direct no nonsense answer. Big ups to her. I wish more people in the customer service field would be as efficient.

Jason welcome to oDesk. Your costs are explained here in the Billing/Payments Section of the help guide. Basically you're going to agree on a rate with a provider who can fill your needs and on top of their rate there is a 10% fee to oDesk! Doreen
