Buyer Hired Me via my email
Hi,
Last week, I got a message from my oDesk that I was considered for an interview for the job that I applied. Contact details of the buyer was also sent to me via email by oDesk. It included the buyer's Yahoo ID which I added in my YM list. I got in touch with the Buyer thru the said contact details. I made a cover letter to the Buyer and made a bid at oDesk but unfortunately, another provide was chosen for the job.
The next day, I was NOT logged at my oDesk account for the reason that I was doing personal email and internet surfing when all of a sudden, I received a YM message from the Buyer who first rejected my application. He asked me some questions (which seemed like an interview to me) and he told me he has an emergency project that needs to be done. He gave me a test project for me to work on to check if I can work on the assignment. It would be my gauge if I get the job or not. I did the test project and sent it to him for approval. I got a reply from him informing me that I was "hired" and he asked me if how much I would charge for the project.
But what I don't understand is that I was HIRED but the assignment is not posted in my oDesk job assignment.
What should I do? Should I tell the Buyer to post the job assignment at oDesk?
This is my FIRST job assignment. Pls help..

Contratulations on getting
Contratulations on getting your first assignment, Haydee!
Since you've already been rejected for this job, the buyer will have to hire you through your oDesk profile. Since you've already discussed this with the buyer and they intend to hire you, they can go directly to your profile and click on the "Hire" button (please note: this method is NOT recommended if you haven't discussed it with the buyer/provider already).
Just send them a polite email asking them to visit your profile to make the hire. Your profile (permalink) url is: http://www.odesk.com/users/~~2237c3faafa47cf3Â

You should not work until
on Wed, 2008-11-05 18:22.You should not work until you've been hired in oDesk. It does not appear that you've been hired yet (you can check for sure in My Assignments).
The buyer can follow these linked directions to hire you from your profile -- note that you'd be hired at your posted profile rate.
Unfortunately, there's a strong possibility this buyer is attempting to get you to work outside of oDesk. If he wants to hire you but won't do it in the system, it is very important to report him via a help ticket for policy violation (it's called disintermediation).
