If you were referred to oDesk by a friend, who was it?

I found oDesk on google when I was looking for an illustrator back in May...I skipped past it at first.

Then a friend (non-oDesker), along with my bank account rep (another non-oDesker), recommended oDesk as well.  I figured if two completely unrelated and disconnected people (in a span of 2 weeks) were recommending the same place, it might be worth looking into!

ABC's "Good Morning, America" has an ongoing segment on job searching, and this morning (11-13-2008) their consultant mentioned O-Desk on the air several times.  I made a note of it and logged on to register shortly thereafter!  looking forward to the possibilities.

I received a call from a friend regarding the job fair, promoted by Good Morning America, today in Atlanta.  I was unable to find where the job fair was located, so I chose to research the odesk online link through the abcnews.com article.  I am excited to see what opportunities await!

....but I too saw Tory Johnson's story from the Atlanta Job Fair this morning on ABC's Good Morning America. She mentioned oDesk as an excellent resource for work-from-home opportunities and I checked it out. I've been looking for "legitimate" telecommute job listings for some time and only found rip-offs where you have to pay for more information. This site seems pretty cool, so I registered to check it out. I'm going through their extensive job preparation process. And, I'm looking forward to getting my first project!

I'm sure oDesk received a ton of new registrants today after watching this morning's news story. And, I'm sure it'll have a positive impact on oDesk's bottom line. I only hope companies don't start using payola-type schemes to get featured on GMA. Obviously, that would degrade the validity of the reporters and contributors' evaluations and their subsequent recommendations to viewers like me.

I also learned of ODesk through Good Morning America and Tori Johnsons Job Fair. I actually met Tori Johnson in Dallas several months ago and was invited to write a piece for Tori's book about working from home and what my work day consisted of. She is an awesome lady and if she recommends it then I believe in it.

I was introduced to ODesk by a writing friend from Helium.com, where I am a channel steward for sports& recreation and also a premier writer.

Yes, I will add to the others that got the reference through Good Morning America.  After the program went off, I looked up your site.  I am excited, and hope it works out for me.

I am a teacher/administrator and heard about this opportunity to help with finances on Good Morning America.

Unable to get a office desk job I turned to one place I never seriously considered, the Internet.

I searched a site that was reputable, webware.com, where they gave a brief description of the system...a system that guarantees payment for providers and gives buyers assurance.

"Hmmmm, this sounds promising", I thought, "not like the other site full of scam jobs". So I signed up, read the help section and the tips; within a few days I got my first job!

It's by sheer chance that I came to learn about oDesk. While going through an article published in a local daily about how to make money online, I discovered the oDesk URL. And that was the turning point of my life. Now I'm married to oDesk, so to say. I've quit my teaching career for this new found romance of mine.

I got an email from another website biz,about training freelance writers.  Then when I began to search for jobs found oDesk.

Good Morning America did a nice piece of people looking for work and ODesk was one of their solutions for one of the people.  Shortly after, I connected with ODesk.

I was searching the net for places where I could promote Cybersages and found Odesk...

I found oDesk entirely by chance looking for work as a writer. There was a position posted on an Internet job board from someone else who was then using oDesk, and at first I assumed it was just another work-from-home scam. I'm glad I gave it a chance!
