Too many qualified candidates

Hi All,

I recently posted a job opening (for a relatively simple job) and got a overwhelming number of responses from Extremely qualified candidates.

How do I let everyone know/post a general note that I can only hire one person and it is not their qualification that is the problem.

I believe you can blanket reject the remainder of candidates after you've hired one as 'position filled by alternate source'.  This way (a) the providers are not waiting to hear back from you and (b) the providers are not being flagged as 'inexperienced'.

Just write

I think you will know before posting job how many providers you want to complete the job , so in posting job only it,s better to write the number of providers you are willing to hire , i am not sure but i think this will solve half the problem as new providers may not apply seeing the requirment and the applied providers list
