I thought you were suppose to be relaxed in a spa
Hey
Ms. Jibber Jabber, here just wondering why do some people go to spas. I know your suppose to go to relax however I just came from a spa a couple of days ago because my girlfriend gave me a gift certificate and witness what had to be the most up tight person in the world. As I waited impatiently for my therapist to pick me up, there was a therapist that came right in before mine pronouncing a name that had to be wrong. The lady who sat across from me yapping on her cell phone, right in front of a sign that clearly read NO CELL PHONES IN SPA looked up at the therapist , just to cut her eyes in disgust and finished her lasting words before even acknowledging she had an appointment. She very loudly corrected the therapist as she went to get something to drink before leaving the lounge. My therapist called my named I jump with excitement and everyone else that was waiting roared in laughter. As I was leaving out floating from my massage, I walked past the front desk listening to that same crazed lady complaining that her massage was cut short. Could it had been her rudeness in the beginning that took about ten minutes. I guess that therapist didn't have any clients but her. Why do crazy people go to the spa?
FYI on spas and their "typical" customer
Dear Ms. JibberJabber:
You answered your own question; people go to a spa BECAUSE they are stressed and to BECOME relaxed. They are usually quite frustrated and harried when they get there, and as witnessed by your own "floating" after your appointment, you can see from your own letter the difference in how you began your experience, and how it ended (well) for you. The dynamic at this spa is typical, i.e. people come in stressed and leave relaxed and refreshed, if indeed this spa knows how to achieve their objective. As for the cell phone issue, it should've been enforced, and either bring it to the manager's attention or find a new spa. This is not an unusual scenario, but the staff and manager should know how to quickly and effectively deal with these issues. (BTW, the more high-end the spa is, the more high-strung, type-A+ personalities will go there. Like I said, if the spa is more than competent, those same people should leave the opposite of how they came in!)
