Payroll for Provider Company
Hello! I read a few months ago in the forums that payroll system is in the works and will be implemented in provider companies.
Any news about the payroll system? I know other provider companies and affiliated contractors under a provider company would love to hear of any developments regarding this matter. Thanks!

The answer is yes, we have some of the basic elements working, and are accepting a limited number of provider companies to experiment with the new system.
It is early alpha and many elements are manual or clunky. But if you'd like to participate, submit a ticket with some information on what you would like to do and ask to discuss with Michael.

Michael great news! Im new here in oDesk (like a month) but I just make some works here
Its very good idea for providers the possibilty to create companies and yes I planned to create a new one, but I think the payroll system is one of the basic config.
So, do you have some link or write here the options for the future service?
I think another option is the possibilty to pay from my oDesk balance directly.

I don't have all the details on the alpha (it's a work in progress), but I do know that yes, you would would indeed be able to pay the affiliated contractors from your oDesk balance.
If you are a provider and buyer, you are already able to pay from your balance, though you must still have a verified payment method on file in case your balance is too low to cover the amount due.

If you are a provider and buyer, you are already able to pay from your balance, though you must still have a verified payment method on file in case your balance is too low to cover the amount due.
I think yes, but not mandatory... but thinking like a individual provider I need a security for the payment if oDesk does not guarantee payment, something like escrow?

Okay I would like to sign up for the payroll. I still need to be able to get my team members to be exclusive. I am having trouble doing that. I also need instructions on how to sign up for payroll to pay these team members. Pls help me do both of these tasks. Thank you very much.

I've linked to the instructions already. As you've noticed, the users cannot become exclusive ACs until their assignments end. You need to enroll in the payroll program so you can continue to pay them inside the system.
We cannot take care of this for you on the forum. You must submit a ticket with some information on what you would like to do. Tell support you'd like to sign up for the alpha and discuss payroll arrangements with Michael.

I will be signing up for payroll alpha soon.
but before that, can u please share few details
Eg:-
the company funds = 100$
Payment for TeamMember1 = 30$
Payment for Team member 2 = 40$
Once i complete this, can i expect 30$ in my company account?

I believe the idea is that payroll can be set-up as an hourly amount or as a stipend (paid manually or weekly), and that there is not an added fee for paying an AC with dollars earned from oDesk assignments.

Not really ready to test it myself, as I only have 3 team members, and none with active assignments, but it is because of this system that my future plan is to incorporate a team in addition to my regular Odesk activities as a provider.
