Newto this...
Hi all
Im new to this and struggling a little. Have downloaded the oDesk launcher, team etc but when I click to open it it doesnt start up. So i reinstalled and on the last page of installation you can tick box to launch. So i did this for odesk Team. It asked me to log in and i did but then said I didnt have any active assignments and shutdown.
I was trying to do the odesk readiness test but if i cant open the launcher then how can i?
Any suggestions welcome.
It also mentions on the question in the test, whilst the client is running open the odesk team. So how do I 'run the client?' Do i have to wait for an assignment to be accepted?
Thanks, Fiona

You might refer to these while testing (it's open book). I did not try and use the team application for the test, I found all the info in here.
The links at the top were most helpful as well - they answered some of the questions easily.

If all else failed I typed the term into the help box and usually came up with what was a reasonable answer.

It is possible to have the oDesk Team application open without being logged in. That's all you need to do for the oDesk Readiness Test. Do take a look at these tutorial videos as well.
You say it 'shutdown'... but was the oDesk Team icon still in your system tray? That's what you're looking for to know the application is open.

The program wont even open. I click on the icon for it and nothing happens. I have installed several times.
Its only if I launch following reinstallation and then it asks for a log in before anything comes up. Which says I dont have any active assignments so cant log in.
Will check out the tutorial vids thou. Thank you

Are you certain that there's not an oDesk icon in your system tray? The application won't show any other windows when running. At least one of the videos walks you through installation. Maybe that will help.
If you still think the application is failing, please contact Customer Support directly to report your installation problem. Be sure to include your system specs. I've not heard of this type of error from anyone before.
