Why you shouldn't apply for jobs you don't qualify for...

I used to apply to jobs that interested me, but did not necessarily qualify for. As we all know, when we click on "apply" and go to the cover letter page, it tells us that "You meet all the qualifications" or "You don't meet the qualifications".

Having just been a buyer myself, I realized that when I receive applicants, I can hide those who don't meet my qualifications! I think by default, this is turned on, so I only see applicants who meet my requirements. I usually get enough applicants that I don't need to see unqualified applicants.

Just a little tip to you all - if you see that "you're not qualified", think twice before applying! Your cover letter and samples may not even be read by the buyer and you may be wasting one of your job application quotas.

 And a suggestion to Odesk - is there any way to make that "not qualified" note on the cover letter page more visible? Maybe have a red highlight?
