Are these proposal real or fake

Hi there
I have recently signed up at oDesk and find it hard to nail some of these
freelance jobs. I must have sent over 30 applications so far and all fail to
meet the requirements for some reasons (--I'm not
crying
--). I know its still early and will, well hopefully win my first one soon lol.
Are all these proposals genuine? Or is oDesk posting fake proposals among
the real ones to keep it’s compete unique up and allowing the freelancers to
return to the site by feeding us with fake proposals and making us think they
are genuine?
Be patience with me, I am only a newbie to this forum and only speaking my
opinion. I'm looking forward to the day of not needing to work or freelance (--I hope its not when I'm 70yrs old
--)
there is a world for me to explore and to invade
.
Many thanks in advance

I think "NO" , but your idea is right for many oDesk competitors who charge monthly fee. Fee to get possibility to get a job.
Here, at oDesk, "fake proposals" is result of "no pre-moderation".

Good point cause at oDesk, I think there is no fees to attain a job. Ok, I will keep trying, but the more I do, then the more I have to drop my hourly rate in order for me to be looked at because that's how desperate I am to get a project lol. I mean I have gone down from $15 to $10 now. Any lower, then I think I might have to pick another career and wash dishes or mow the lawns haha lol.
TakeReal thanks for your comment.

I think you are too hot
I started with $7/hr and can't take my first assignment about 5 monthes... Now I working with $33/hr and have a lot of job and ranked in top-50 of oDesk freelancers.. And even get in a best freelance designers of oDesk at June..
Good luck with your dishes
PS: all I can propose to you is patience and humility...
PS2: I checked you profile..
- Better remove any tests that have score lower than 3 or even 3.5. With such score you are saying "hey! I'm VERY average, like a thousands of other guys here"... Better retake this test in a future, get better score and then publish..
- Remove any crap and pseudo-graphic from title. Title is a MAIN SEO tool of oDesk, use it wise..
- In "Resume" you just describing current project, but better if you describe your skills in this areas. Something like you have in "Responsibilities". And then use this links as examples that make your words stronger.. Btw, as for me, Dreamweaver is not a skill, it's a tool.. In other words "html", "css" and "dreamweaver" better combine in one skill.. be short-spoken, 49% of buyers are lazy, 49% are busy, and only 2% will be read all of this
- and the last. One work in portfolio never explain all skills and abilities of provider, 'cause it's just a point in space. Even 2 works is a 2 points that allowed draw a vector through it and get some understanding of provider style and abilities...

Thank you vnok,
That helps a lot. Damn! Did you start at $7, is the freelance world that cheap these days? I better lower my rates then..or otherwise I'll have to look for another career lol.
Your right about my profile, I need to polish it up. I was so eager to fill it in and complete my profile so I can apply for some jobs. I thought these test weren't that important, but it makes a lot of sense now, the way you describe it.
Now I understand why I haven't received any replies
.
Cool bananas, I know what to do now.
Thanks helps vnok.
