I haven't idea for you, but your buyer

I haven't idea for you, but your buyer, I am sure, searching new victim. No way to recognize this buyer, may be I post bids on his projects too.

This is unique oDesk feature: anonymous project's posters without unique ID.

Submit a Help Ticket

It's time to ask help from Odesk people... and make sure you have a transcript of all your email or chat history to back up your claim.

Yeah, I'm with Take Real.  We should have a separate message board for complaints, warnings, scams - but....with anonymity, this can be a real pain in the A**.  These predators can easily create a new identity, account, and so the saga goes on.

I wonder why no action is being made on this.... specially when buyers don't pay - means no income for Odesk as well.

There are really good clients out there ( mine included ).  I wish this experience won't stop you from taking new jobs.  Good Luck..

No! No needs to create new account!

No! No needs to create new account! Buyer is anonymous. No identity, no unique username.

LOL... I almost forgot

Good point mate!  It's like a 3rd encounter with the nth kind Smile

hi

Yes I do have a chat history with my buyer plus other messages on here. actually she paid me for the first assignment and she leaved me a good feedback she's also an odesk payment verified. thanks for the advice, i really appreciated it, thank god odesk has a facebook account i could report it straight from them and take appropriate actions

1$ JOB?

So, she let you work on the first assignment for $1 and the second assignment she did not pay you for?

How much time did you spend on the second assignment and how much does she owe you now?

I don't understand what you are trying to say with "facebook"!

Why do you waste time?- Just raise a helpticket, explain the problem in a simple manner and support what you are saying by attaching screen shots, email, Skype/Gtalk messenger converstations in a zipped folder.

Good Luck.

Rick

Hi Ana, It really very

Hi Ana,

It really very difficult to for newbies to get a job. I've been here since November 2008 and yet, I only got my projects last May 2009 (with the exception of that $10 writing project last December).

Ok, I checked your profile again, and you're not exactly a newbie. However, accepting a $1 work is not a good way to start. Can you remember how many hours did it take for you to do that job? How much electricity was consumed? You think $1 is enough?

Check the other providers that work for this client. Two other people worked on almost the same job but for a much higher price. Moreover, the budget of this client is $15. Why bid on such a ridiculously low price.

I'm also from the Philippines. That $1 is only for my afternoon snacks.

Alright, enough of the $1 job. Now let's proceed on what you can do.

1. your profile overview

Aside from a short sentences stating your job experiences, all others are just marketing cliche. I suggest you trim down the marketing cliche and expound on what you can do with regards to researching, accounting, data entry and administrative work.

2. skills

I suggest you remove Photoshop, MS Access and Facebook. I don't think anyone will be hiring you to do Photoshop and MS Access. If you really want to provide those services, do some practice or take some lessons. Then, increase you level. As for Facebook, it's very specific to be considered a "skill".

3, Tests

Do not show those two tests with the lowest percentile. They act as stain to your portfolio that can repel potential clients. If you really want a job related to those two skills, retake the test and show them only when they are greater than 60%, the higher, the better.

Hello, new here.......

So how's it going for everyone? I'm doing about as good as you can being a stressed out developer. LOL. But I was just wondering what this section of the site is all about.

Hi sproot

I am a developer also.  I use the forums sort of like a water cooler for the work at home set.

Are you serious!

?? How can you ask that and not read it from the top, it's not like a whole book was written lol
