Odesk team application help

I'm new at odesk and after a long time, i finally got a job which is fixed.. the problem is i don't understand how to use the odesk team application,the screensnap,mini launcher, screensnap and so on..
And also, i have read here on odesk that only hourly jobs use the odesk team application..
please help me..

Running the oDesk team application for a fixed-price assignment is entirely optional and it wouldn't make any difference when it comes to payment. You may want to use it just to become familiar. The hours you log in using oDesk team won't be sent to the buyer for a fixed-price job.
