newbie here, kinda lost

I have downloaded the odesk program, says you have to be a member of a team to log in? Do I have to be a member of a team? I have watched the videos, still kinda confused. Normally I pick up on all this really quick. I understand to work (when I get a job) it has to be on. Not too sure about sending assignments through. Any help would be great. I feel like such a blonde. I am still exploring and learning so that this program can be like a first language to me. Thanks for any support that you can provide.

You must have an active assignment

In order to use the odesk team someone must have hired you. You will then be part of your buyers "team". Only then can you use the oDesk team. Once you log into it, you are required to pick a team that you will be charging your time to. Buyers create a team and give it some name, usually their company name.
