Problems with spam
I have been reporting spam job posts for quite a time now and am beginning to see why no one else seems to be interested in doing it. I usually create a ticket for jobs that have links to foreign resources or have been created as a test, but all of them get removed after a day or so. So tell me what is the point of reporting such posts when they get to attract people’s attention anyway? I wish someone would deal with those post – they are really annoying, including self PR post that some think is a great way to advertise their skills. I really wish oDesk would DO SOMETHING about them!
If there was a rule that you have to register your card to post a job, that would prevent spammers from creating multiple accounts and posting their stupid advertising on oDesk or else this nice website is going to turn in to a spam hole!

I do remember actively doing the same a long ago. oDesk has already made a good number of steps to reduce spam. If the above suggestion (verifying credit card before posting) is implemented, I'm sure there would be less spam and we will see more quality job listings.

I agree with pkalimuthu that's the best way to minimize scamming buyers and providers

Today I spent 1/2 hour looking at job postings and ALL of them were from providers looking for jobs. This is absurd. Is it really that easy to not know if you are a buyer or a provider? If it is then maybe oDesk needs to take a look at this and see if they cannot make it a wee bit clearer to those signing up or else approve the jobs of those who are first time posters themselves before allowing them to be posted.
A half hour of my time doing odesk's job is too much.

Hi Margaret. This is definitely one thing we can both agree on. Acting proactively I must have filed about ten tickets to odesk staff about this. I swear, I'd say some of these people were posting deliberately to attract the wrong kind of attention to their profile.

Because this is task for oDesk moderators.
Doesn't matter how many 'spams' you report. Because you can't stop spammers by just reporting "spammer here".

I know that this is actually the job of oDesk and it's in their interest to stop spammers or they will loose their good feedback! But sadly, spam is not monitored. They promised to implement the idea of registering your card before posting a job - seems logical enough considering the rule! Don't know why they didn't implement the idea earlier.
I now stopped reporting spam - was actually doing it for fun, but now I have enough work to be occupied!
