Icon on candidate list to show if their online

I'm a buyer who has 40 candidate responding to my job post. I would like to suggest that a small icon be added to the candidate list which shows which providers are logged in/online on oDesk so i can invite them immediately for an interview?

although this feature would

although this feature would need some heavy time coding and integrating into oDesk, it would be nice. I am a provider and would surely benefit from it. My buyers won't have to log out for an hour to wait for my reply, they would see that I am online and wait a few minutes for it.

online icon's

I think that would be great... to be able to see who is or isn't online I think it would also be nice to permit buyer & providers that chance to opt out or disable that feature.

I think this would add

I think this would add value,
esepecially when buyers "ïnvite" to interview. For all i know, serious buyers shortlist 5 from their first 10 responses and not really wait until all invitees reply.
So, this would give "early bird gets the worm" a new meaning...

Would you entirely make your profile private or allow visibility to buyers only ?

Who's Online Block

I have the feeling that Drupal is used in the creation of this website. The Community Forum itself is Drupal-ish. Just to share, I encountered a Who's Online feature back then when I "test drive" Drupal in creating a website. Maybe you could use that.

I'm not a php coder/programmer so I don't know how to tweak the php codes behind the Who's Online Block. Maybe some hardcore coders here can tweak that and use it here.

while the forum and some

while the forum and some other areas of oDesk do utilize drupal, most of the site (including the profiles and job posts) does not

I had thought the same thing as well that it looked Drupal-ish

as for the drupal who's online block the info could be recoded to pull the online stats from the database they have incorporated with the profiles. It would take a good bit of re-working it though.

Great idea!

This sounds like a great idea to me! Would be useful to have this sort of thing next to both providers and buyers.
