oDesk Readiness Test
oDesk requires all new providers to take and pass the oDesk Readiness Test. This open-book test is designed as a tutorial to encourage users to learn about oDesk policies, procedures, and best practices.
An oDesk provider must be oDesk Ready to apply to job openings. The job application quota is set to zero until the oDesk Readiness Test is passed. All oDesk provider profiles indicate the oDesk Ready status of the user. An oDesk buyer may restrict searches to show only providers who are oDesk Ready. Click here to take the ORT today!
How do I know if I'm oDesk Ready? You can check if you're oDesk Ready by going to My oDesk -> Profile & Settings -> My Provider Profile - it's just above the profile completeness bar in My Account Summary.
Why did oDesk introduce this requirement? Because we want all of our users to get the most of their oDesk experience.
The ORT introduces providers to many of the tools and features they will need to succeed. It help familiarize them with our rules and policies and encourages them to become active and productive participants in our community.
The ORT also benefits buyers by preventing brand new providers from spamming job openings with junk applications. Having to pass this test ensures a certain level of commitment on the part of the provider. We believe this will help improve the quality of job applications and candidates, and increase the percentage of jobs that lead to successful hires and fruitful working relationships.
