Providers worldwide can register for an oDesk Debit MasterCard powered by Payoneer. It can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted, including stores and ATMs. However, Payoneer will place loading and spending limits on your card.
Payoneer is the best withdrawal option for many providers because no bank is required. To transfer your earnings to your bank account, please review our other withdrawal methods.
To minimize fees, decrease the frequency of withdrawals from oDesk to Payoneer and reduce your ATM usage. If possible, withdraw your earnings monthly instead of weekly and swipe your card in a store or use it to make payments online instead of withdrawing cash at an ATM.

If the card value is depleted to zero, no fees will apply. However, Payoneer accounts may be blocked and/or closed after a period of inactivity. Reactivation fees may apply.
Transfers from oDesk to Payoneer take 2 days to clear. To make your funds available in just a few hours, Payoneer also offers an expedited load option for an additional fee.
If you believe your Payoneer withdrawal failed, please contact Customer Support. They can check the status of the transfer and recover the untransferred funds.
Registering for Payoneer withdrawals is done partly with oDesk and partly with Payoneer. You may create a new account or use an existing Payoneer account.
Registering for Payoneer takes only a few minutes, but delivering the card through the postal system can take up to 8 weeks. An expedited shipping option is available for an additional fee.
If you need to a new Payoneer account:
- Confirm with Payoneer that your country is supported and that their features and fees are acceptable.
- Go to Payments > Payment Methods. Select the Withdrawals tab.
- Click the Sign Up Now link in the Payoneer Actions column.
- You'll be taken to the Payoneer website to register for a Payoneer account with your @odesk.com email address or your personal email address (in Profile > User Info).
- Complete the Payoneer registration process.
- Complete the Payoneer withdrawal method activation process (directions below).
If you have an existing Payoneer account:
- Confirm with Payoneer that your country is supported and that their features and fees are acceptable.
- Go to Payments > Payment Methods. Select the Withdrawals tab.
- Click the Sign Up Now link in the Payoneer Actions column.
- Click the area that says "If you already own a prepaid MasterCard card from Payoneer, Click Here!" and complete the Payoneer registration process.
- Complete the Payoneer withdrawal method activation process (directions below).
To complete your Payoneer withdrawal method activation:
- Return to oDesk's Payments > Payment Methods. Select the Withdrawals tab.
- Use the Click here link in the Account column.
- Press the Enable Payoneer button. For security reasons, Payoneer withdrawals will become active in 4 days.
Please confirm your Payoneer account and wait for your card to be delivered before initiating a Payoneer withdrawal on oDesk. You are responsible for making sure that Payoneer provides the services you need before you withdraw money. Once you submit a withdrawal oDesk transfers the money to Payoneer. They can take up to 30 days to return funds if the transaction needs to be reversed.
Never make a withdrawal from oDesk to Payoneer until you've figured out how to access your money after the transfer.
In most cases, changes to your Payoneer account must be done directly on Payoneer. This includes change of billing address, email address, enabling other parties to load the card, etc.
Please contact Customer Support to deactivate Payoneer as a withdrawal method. To close your Payoneer account, please contact Payoneer directly.
oDesk withdrawals to Payoneer have a minimum of $2. Payoneer availability, features and fees vary by country and Payoneer may place additional restrictions on your account.
oDesk charges a $2 fee for Payoneer withdrawals. So if you only withdraw $2 there will be nothing left to deposit in your Payoneer account.
Payoneer accounts may be blocked and/or closed after a period of inactivity. Reactivation fees may apply.
oDesk does not automatically transfer your earnings to your Payoneer account. You must make withdrawals manually in Payments > Withdrawals. (Learn more about withdrawing your earnings.)
At this time, buyers cannot pay with Payoneer or any other prepaid card. But please check back periodically as we're continuously working to expand the options for our users. (Read more about existing payment methods.)
If you would like to pay for oDesk assignments with oDesk earnings, leave the earnings in your oDesk account. You available balance will automatically be used to pay the providers you hire. However, you will still need a credit card on file to verify as a buyer and as back-up in case your earnings can't cover your payments.
