Apply to Job Openings
All oDesk providers must pass the oDesk Readiness Test.
You cannot apply to job openings unless you are oDesk Ready. This open
book test is designed as a tutorial to help familiarize users with
oDesk policies and practices. (effective June 4, 2008)
Once you have completed the registration process, filled out your profile, and found a job opening you're interested in, it's time to apply!
To apply to a job postings:
1. Log in using your oDesk user ID and password.

2. Search for job openings, or click on a link from an RSS feed or Job Alert email.
3. Once you're in the job you're interested in, click the yellow apply button at the top or bottom of the page.

4. You'll need to enter a cover letter and a bid or rate.
- Hourly Jobs

- On the first page, you will enter your cover letter, check the box to agree to the terms and conditions of the oDesk User Agreement, and click the yellow Apply button.

- On the second page, you will enter your hourly rate and click the yellow Apply button.

- On the first page, you will enter your cover letter, check the box to agree to the terms and conditions of the oDesk User Agreement, and click the yellow Apply button.
- Fixed Price Jobs

- On the first page, you need to acknowledge the special rules of Fixed Price jobs by checking the 'Yes' box and clicking the Continue to Apply button.
- On the second page, you will enter your bid, your request for a percentage of the payment upfront (optional), an estimate of the number of days it will take you to deliver a completed product, your cover letter, check the box to agree to the terms and conditions of the oDesk User Agreement, and click the yellow Apply button.
- On the first page, you need to acknowledge the special rules of Fixed Price jobs by checking the 'Yes' box and clicking the Continue to Apply button.
5. You can check on the status of any of your applications on the My Candidacies pages.
