Adding Offline Time
If you are working on an hourly oDesk assignment, but you are not using the computer (e.g. meetings, phone calls etc), you may include this time as offline time. Keep in mind that the following rules are applied to offline time:
- Offline time should only be added in exceptional circumstances.
- Explicit permission should be gained from the Buyer in writing (email, fax), before offline time is added.
- oDesk does not guarantee payment for offline time. It will be automatically removed if a Buyer disputes it.
Offline time can be added at any time during the work week but it must be done before Monday 12 noon GMT because that's when the week's work diary is frozen. Once your work diary is frozen, you cannot edit the hours worked or text memos.
You add offline time from the oDesk Work Diary page. You can access the page in two ways:
From oDesk Team context menu:
1.Right click on the system tray menu of oDesk Team
2. Select WorkDiary
From My oDesk:
1. Log in using your oDesk user ID and password.

2. Go to My oDesk -> Work with your Team -> Work Diary.


Adding the time:
1. Select this correct assignment's team in the team selector bar.

2. Once your Work Diary had loaded, you will see 3 buttons. Click on the "Add offline time" button in the upper right.
3. An Add Offline Time box will appear. Enter the "From:" time and "To:" time, as well as a memo for the time to be added. 
Important notes about adding offline time:
- Set the diary to the correct time zone before you add time!
- Be careful not to over-write your properly-logged online time.
- You can't add future time.
4. Click Submit. Your offline time will appear in the Work Diary immediately. It may take longer to appear on your weekly Time Log.
