Taking Online Tests

All oDesk providers must pass the oDesk Readiness Test. You cannot apply to job openings unless you are oDesk Ready. This open book test is designed as a tutorial to help familiarize users with oDesk policies and practices. (effective June 4, 2008)

An active provider on oDesk has unlimited and free access to the online skill tests oDesk offers. Once you have completed a test, you can choose to keep your test score public on your oDesk profile or make it private.

To take an online oDesk test, please follow the guidelines below:

1. Log in using your oDesk user ID and password.

2. Go to Find Providers -> Qualification Tests

3. Use the Category down menu to look for tests in any particular category. You can also use the Title search box to narrow your search further for any given category. Click the Search button below the Title search box. A list of tests will be displayed at the bottom of the page. Please refer to the Recommended Tests to help decide which tests to take.

4. Click on the test you wish to take. A page will display more information about the test, including the syllabus, rules, and statistics. Refer to the Online Testing FAQ if you have any questions.

5.Click the Start Test button to begin the test. When you are finished, visit My Tests to keep your score public, or make it private and hidden from your profile. Don't forget - you can take as many tests as you want and retake them if you'd like to try for a higher score!
