How to end an assignment
A few things you (or your staffing manager) should know about ending assignments:
- You should NOT end a fixed price assignment until after you have received ALL expected payments. The buyer will have no way to pay you after the assignment is ended. That said, if you do not expect to receive more payment for the job, it's perfectly OK for you to be the one who ends it.
- You should ask the buyer on an hourly assignment if they have any additional work they would like you to do. You might be surprised how often they say yes! It's only necessary to open a new job for any new projects if you would be getting a different hourly rate.
- You must leave feedback for the buyer unless it was a zero dollar job.
- Any feedback the buyer leaves for you on a zero dollar job will not effect your feedback score. Zero dollar jobs are also hidden from your public work history.
- The buyer will be asked to provide feedback on the ended assignment.
- Your access to the company's My Team, SVN, Bugzilla, and Mailing List resources will be disabled.
- You will no longer be able to log any time to your account.
- You will no longer be able to modify your Work Diary. Please be sure to verify the times before end the assignment.
Please see this article for instructions on how to end an assignment and leave feedback for the buyer.
