How do I change my password?
You may update your password anytime. Do not share your password with anyone and never allow others to log in using your oDesk user ID and password. If you suspect your account has been compromised, change your password immediately. (Learn more about account security.)
  1. Go to Profile & Settings > Change Password. You may be asked to enter your password or answer your security question for security reasons.
  2. Enter your Old Password.
  3. Enter your New Password twice. Your new password must pass the strength meter test (the meter will turn green and the red X will change to a green checkmark).
  4. Press the Change button.

Your password must be at least 8 characters long. It must contain at least one letter and at least one number or symbol.
How do I reset my password?
If you forget your password, you'll need access to the personal email address on file to reset it.
  1. Go to Sign In.
  2. Click the Forgot your Password link in the Sign In box.
  3. Enter your Username or Email Address and press the OK button.
  4. Check your email. You should receive an email from oDesk within a few minutes. You must click the link in the email within 45 minutes. Don't see the email? Check your spam folder.
  5. Answer your Security Question, enter a New Password twice. Your new password must pass the strength meter test (the meter will turn green and the red X will change to a green checkmark).
  6. Press the OK button.

How do I change my other account information?
Your account contains many types of information. Learn more about changing:
  • Security question - necessary to perform secure operations such as changing user info and making withdrawals.
  • User info - including email addresses, location information and time zone.
  • Company profile - including team name and team contact address.
  • Provider profile - including education, employment history, skills, title and portfolio.
  • Assignments - including rates, weekly limits and feedback.
  • Job posts - including lists of candidates and job descriptions.
  • Candidacies - including rates and (non-editable) cover letters.
