What is the oDesk Mailing List?
oDesk has created a mailing list through which you can communicate with your entire team. Any email sent to the list will be distributed to you and your entire team through your registered email addresses.
Your mailing list name will be of the form teamid.devel@news.odesk.com.
Do I need to use the mailing list?
We recommend that you use it for all email correspondence with your team.
Benefits of using the mailing list
oDesk recommends that customers use the mailing list for several reasons:
- Send project descriptions, files, and any updates to all team members at once
- Professionals can use the list to document progress, issues, and general availability to the customer and any teammates
How to use the mailing list
Send emails to teamid.devel@news.odesk.com. The message will be forwarded to all members of the team.
What is the Daily Status Report?
At the end of each work day, all oDesk Professionals are required to send a Daily Status Report to their customer’s mailing list (oDesk Professionals with more than one assignment are required to send separate emails to the mailing list for each of their customers).
The report can short and informal, and should cover work performed and issues or questions you might have, such as:
- What work was performed?
- What issues are there on current tasks?
- How does work proceed against your current deadlines?
- Do you have tasks to work on? When will you run out of tasks to work on?
- Do you plan to work tomorrow?
- If yes, when?
- If no, when will you work next?
