Adding Offline Time

If you are working on an oDesk assignment, but you are not using the computer (e.g. meetings, phonecalls etc), you may include this time as offline time. Keep in mind that the following rules are applied to offline time:

• Offline time should only be added in exceptional circumstances.
• Explicit permission should be gained from the Buyer in writing (email, fax), before offline time is added.
• oDesk does not guarantee payment for offline time in case a Buyer disputes it.

Offline time can be added to any day of week but it should be done before Tuesday midnight GMT next week, because timelogs become frozen at this moment. Once your timelog is frozen, you cannot edit the hours worked or text memos.

You can add offline time from the oDesk Workdiary page. You can access the page in two ways:

1. From oDesk Team context menu
   1. Right click on the system tray menu of oDesk Team
   2. Select WorkDiary
2. From my.odesk.com webpage
   1. Login to my.odesk.com
   2. Select your team tab under "My Teams" tab  

Use these steps to add offline time to the oDesk Workdiary:

1. At the top of the page you will see 3 buttons. Click on the "Add"
   button next to the "Memo:" label.
   
   
   


2. An Add Memo dialog box will appear. Enter the "From:" time and "To:" time, as well as a memo for the time to be added. Format for time is HH:MM. For example:
   

   From:   11:30
   To:        14:40
   Memo:  Offline time reading the XYZ spec. 

3. Click Ok

If you want to confirm if the offline time you entered has been added to you time log, then

• Click on the Time Analyze on the top right hand corner of your Team Room 

• You will see your activity chart which displays your offfline added to your total time. Note that the "Include Offline Time" checkbox needs to be checked for this.
