Nikil surprised me by turning in work after several days of silence.  However, he completely misunderstood the task, so his work was useless.  I'm not sure what caused the miscommunication, but English clearly isn't his first language.

Additionally, despite the fact that the job called for using PHP, Nikil wanted to use asp.net.  I have to assume that he isn't very proficient in PHP, therefore spent way too much time on a simple project.
