Lisp web developer wanted for open source "wish trading market". I tentatively would like to build the application on a "FLAP" stack: FreeBSD/Lisp on Lines/Apache/PostgreSQL. I would also like to use Amazon's S3/EC2 web services. The developer will be responsible for the following:
writing the application
installing and maintaining any supporting software (lisp engine, PostgresSQL, Apache)
writing functional and unit tests in tandem with the development of the software
writing documentation to explain how the software works
training me and others so that I can understand how the software works, and can develop it independently of you.
We will jointly set weekly milestone goals, consisting of automated functional tests that the site must pass. The idea is to get a minimally functional web site up as quickly as possible, and gradually expand it.
This application will be open source. Therefore, if you decide to leave, you will be able to make use of the code you develop in future open source applications.
Technical skills needed: lisp, sql, Unix/Linux system administration, Apache configuration, html
Personal skills: sufficient English competency that you can communicate via email. Prompt responses to queries.
Preferred experience:
Ideally, you will have had extensive Lisp experience. However,it's more important that you be extremely smart, with demonstrated competence in some programming language. If your friends would name you when asked "Who is the most badass programmer you know?", I want you.
