Neotechnology is searching for a person to develop an image manager that stores images in an MS-SQL database. The specification is quite comprehensive and reasonably elaborated, please see the attached file.

The scope of this job is as follows:
1) Develop the image manager according to specification including all C#, C++, SQL, screens, manager classes etc.
2) Undertake all integration into Amicus (our product) as documented in the spec.
3) Consult with the Neotechnology Development Leader and ensure all his requests regarding engineering, design, bug fixing, code style, code quality, commenting and so forth are attended to.
4) Develop automated tests for all functionality according to the specification of the Neotechnology Development Leader (mainly NUNIT).
5) Test all of your work thoroughly before submitting for user acceptance (we will have a tester look at the software).

Note that the product you will be integrating this image manager into is partly C++ Win 32 API and partly C#/.NET 2.0. You will need skills in both.

As Neotechnology has strict policies for managing source code and source code security, all development will need to be undertaken in our secured development environment which will be provided to you via Remote Desktop (Terminal Services). You will not be able to use any mapped drive functionality, cut and paste or printing from within this environment. The Terminal Server requires Windows Vista as a minimum client (Windows XP not accepted). This requirement is NOT negotiable. There is however the ability to pass plain text files into the environment, you may use this to utilise things you find on forums and the like.

As part of the selection process you will be asked to answer a series of questions on C++ and C# as well as submitting code samples for both C++ and C#.

We are happy to accept applications from people with little odesk experience however we will be submitting you too a rigourous screening process (as above) so please do not waste our time with spam submissions.

We have estimated that a member of our development team should be able to develop this, including automated tests, within about 80 hours.

We require the job to be completed within 3 weeks of commencement. Failure to deliver within that time without adequate reason may, at our sole discretion, warrant cancellation of contract. As the job is fixed price, you do not need to work with the odesk tools turned on, however we recommend that you do so that in the event you go over time there is good evidence to support your reasons for delay. This may sound silly however we are very experienced with odesk now, we know how to do things fairly for both parties.
