Neotechnology is the proud manufacturer of Amicus, a point of sale solution for medium-sized business. Amicus is a C++/C# application with a MS-SQL backend.

We would now like to add some Business Intelligence to our application to get more business value out of our program. The kinds of things we would like to develop is 'basket analysis' which should tell us about correlations between between product lines, stores, day of the week, time of the year and the time of day for example. Another example would be a system to predict sales volumes on a weekly basis so that just in time ordering can be effectively implemented. You will need excellent understanding of MS-SQL and a highly developed understanding of MDX and OLAP concepts.

We will then want to tie these bits of intelligence back into our system and make it easy to access. For this you'll need a minimum good skills in C#/.NET.

As the successful applicant will need to work on our source code, if successful you will be required to work via Windows Terminal Services (Remote Desktop) on a server we provide. This server will be fully equipped with all the necessary software licences and tools to perform the development. You will not be able to work on the source code in your own environment under any circumstances. You will not be able to remove content to work offline.This is to protect our IP. The successful applicant will thus need to have full time access to a very fast and reliable broadband connection and a windows vista machine or better (Windows XP is not acceptable), all costs of which should be covered in your bid. You must be willing to work in this style of arrangement.

This position will be full time for the next few months at minimum then part time after that.
