I need to hire someone with experience with Vtiger, I need a definite price or number of hours that you will charge for this task. Please include your price/# of hours with your reply.
1. In vtiger, an account is owned by either a single “user” or a “group”. Currently it is not possible to assign ownership to multiple users. The only workaround is that you have to create a new group, and assign the users with ownership to that group. This is a good workaround, but it causes problems when you have 100 users, as you end up having to create hundreds of custom groups of different combinations for no reason. Also, currently only the owner can access and edit the account.
Here is the reason we need more than one user assigned. An account has 4 different salesmen that deal with the each account. So the account really has 4 owners. Instead of a single “owner field” we need 4 additional owner fields.
1. Roof owner : (dropdown of roof salesmen)
2. Siding owner: (dropdown of siding salesmen)
3. Window Owner: (dropdown of Window salesmen)
4. Door Owner: (dropdown of door salesmen)
The dropdown will get its data from the user pages. On the user page we will create a dropdown called “department”, In this department dropdown, is Roof, Siding, Window, Door. This will be selected and saved in the user’s profile page.
For example: John Smith, a Roof Salesman, in his user profile page in vtiger, you would select “roof” under “department”. You would save his profile.
Then you would go to create a new account. You would fill out the customer account information, and then you would get to the owner area. You would select the dropdown for Roof owner, and select John Smith’s name. If you were to look at the Window owner drop down, you would not see John Smith’s name as a selection, because he is not in this department.
The task will include the following programming
1. Adding of department drop down under the User profile page
2. Adding of 4 additional owner fields under account ownership area, with department drop down. Drop down contains users that are in that department (not all users in system)
3. Creating a programming rule, that states: if a user is selected as one of the owners of the account, then this account is visible when the user logs in, and is editable by user.
4. Verify your additions work, and do not mess up other parts of vtiger
