The Wise Miser (TWM) is a venture from an established and successful UK Online Travel Agency (OTA) that is now looking to capture a significant share of the fast growing Indian online travel market. TheWiseMiser.com is an ambitious young start-up launched in February 2007. It aims to offer consumers an authoritative source of information and offers, so they can best plan and book their holidays.
The founders of the company have a combined industry experience of over 30 years in the travel Industry with a solid history of successful trading both on and offline. They have a highly trained and dedicated sales team of travel professionals who have in-depth knowledge of India and worldwide destinations.
Project Objective
The objective of the project was to develop an online travel portal that allows users to avail of an online search and booking facility; allowing the user to compare fares from several different sources to arrive at the best deal. The client wanted to offer its users an extremely convenient, fast and safe way of travelling by confirming the flight / hotel booking without the need for keeping a hard copy record. The sales process is to be supported by the company's back office automated system which allows paperless control of the fulfilment and accounting process. The website should also provide the feature to modify the search on the basis of date, country etc.
The primary goal of the project was to fulfil all the requirements of travel agencies in flight and hotel booking. There should be three provisions in the website: first one should be search and book flight; second one should be search and book hotel; third one should be search and book flight and hotel simultaneously for a trip or search and book hotel for a part of the trip.
Solution Provided
GrayCell Technologies Exports developed an online booking engine for the “www.thewisemiser.com”. This is the first website to service inbound and outbound travellers with a dynamic packaging solution: that is the ability for the travellers to be able to tailor make their holiday according to their own preferences, dates, airlines, hotels all in real time. This user friendly website is a fast online destination guide and booking resource for flights and hotels worldwide. It makes it quick and easy for users to search and compare the airfares / hotels and find the right flight / hotel. Provision to modify the search is available. Once the travellers have found the right flight / hotel, they can book the ticket online. The solution provided uses SSL technology which maintain the integrity of users' private information. In short, thewisemiser.com is a user-friendly, online destination guide and booking resource for flights and hotels.
The project was developed using the .NET technology framework specifically ASP.Net with C# and SQL Server.

The unique Mirror used in "Try It On" module is developed using the magic of Flash technology allowing the customers to try glasses on without leaving the comfort of their seat. Dell Inc. has set its third Customer Contact Center in India at Mohali (Punjab). There are around 1500 employees working at Dell, Mohali, who avail the cab facility provided by the organization. The transport department provides 24X7 cab facility to all its employees.
There was a need to automate the processes of the transport department, in order to enable them to make better strategic, tactical, operational and execution decisions related to transportation, so that they can anticipate demand and properly position the transport services to meet that demand.
The primary objective of the project was automation of processed keeping in mind the end goal which was “cost effective route planning process”.
GrayCell Technologies Exports provided Dell with an optimized solution to manage the Cab Schedule and plan Cost Effective Routes for all the employees of organization who avail the pick/drop facility.
The Transport Management System is a planned and structured process. One of its primary purposes is shift tracking. Here the user will select options such as pick / drop, date, shift time. The duty slips are generated for picks / drops and back to back cab service will be listed. The user can select a respective shift and enter certain data pertaining to that e.g. actual drops, actual picks, kilometers, no shows (reason listed in the drop down) etc. Team managers have rights to input and modify the data.

Company Profile The Punjab Forest Development Corporation was established in 1983 to develop forestry, agro-forestry and other activities relating to planting, cutting and sale of timber in the State of Punjab. The specific objectives of the Corporation are to develop aid assist, initiate, promote, organize, finance and provide technical, managerial and marketing assistance to such private units and agencies, societies and companies concerned with the raising of forest product and plantations to be raised on their lands; and to aid, assist, initiate, promote, expedite, accelerate, and or execute development projects, enterprises, companies, to promote , advance the production of forest produce for industrial and other uses and also to provide planting material and inputs for the same and to promote forest based industries.The Punjab Government has been using a Forest Management Information System (FMIS) for strategic, tactical and operational planning and implementation, and operational control in and across administrative units. FMIS is envisaged as an integrated system which is used to support the planning, implementation and monitoring of multi-objective forest management activities.
Project Objective The prime objective was to upgrade the current running FMIS system from an older system to a newer system. The current setup was causing numerous issues which included effort duplication and data inconsistencies, leading to increased workload, longer processing times, delays in decision making, low levels of transparency and accountability. The need to upgrade the operating system was one of the prime reasons for the department as it could no longer live with the inherent security holes of the older operating systems, particularly on the administrative network. Liabilities stemming from virus propagation, compromised data, and damaged operating systems had become too great for the limited support resources the department has available.The Punjab Forest Department wanted to improve overall business operations by moving the current system from Windows 98 to Windows XP but it wanted to ensure that the migration happens seamlessly so that the end users do not have any issues whatsoever, in a nutshell the end user should simply not know that the FMIS system was moved from one operating system to another; but at the same time they wanted to get documented everything so that all the steps could be replicated by their IT team as well.
Solution Provided GrayCell Technologies Exports first understood what the client’s internal requirements were and then assessed the FMIS system completely to fully understand its workings. By knowing what the enterprise objectives are, knowing why Windows XP and Oracle XE will support them, and knowing how to adapt the system to the changing marketplace were the key functions. The system was moved to Windows XP and the database was moved to Oracle XE thereby ensuring increased network security, system efficiency, usability and life span of the existing system while integrating new technologies.GrayCell Technologies Exports came up with a more efficient FMIS system which was structured by business activity thus enabling more transparent and targeted intervention. We provided the Punjab Forest Department with a reliable FMIS ensuring high security, avoidance of unexpected downtime, data corruption, data loss, performance issues and any technical incompatibility issues.
Result GrayCell Technologies Exports helped the Punjab Forest Department by providing a cost effective solution that got the job done. We saved major expenditure of the department funds by migrating the FMIS application from Win 98 to Win XP and moving the database from Oracle 8i to Oracle XE.
