I was responsible for organizing and ensuring the efficient operation of a catering equipment business to serve the needs of current and potential clients within the Wales area. My responsibilities included the following:
· Worked under the direction of the Managing Director
· Kept and managed the books of the company inclusive of recording payments from customers; updated the Managing Director of outstanding receivables and payables; receiving of invoices from supplier; and payment of outstanding invoices to suppliers
· Updated and submitted weekly/monthly accounting reports through Sage
· Prepared and monitored time sheets for payroll purposes
· Ensured the smooth flow of daily operations in the company by keeping the staff informed of the activities for the day such as delivery or pick-up of equipment, call-outs for repairs and other activities relating to the catering business
· Supervised and maintained the filing system of the company
· Monitored and answered phone calls; received call-outs for equipment repairs; data encoding; prepared memoranda; letters and other correspondence; mail sorting; computer operations; and performed other general office and clerical work
I provided phone support for credit card-related inquiries and generated sales for the company through cross-selling of personal finance products; a team player who exhibited multi-tasking capabilities, excellent organizational and motivational skills and who has proven initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
I provided comprehensive desktop and portables (notebook) technical support and troubleshooting over the phone for US-based clients of a world-class computer company; ensured the timely delivery of phone support needed by the customers by providing them with accurate and specific information to resolve technical and sometimes non-technical issues; a team player who contributed to the maintenance of site-wide goals and statistics to provide the best customer service experience by ensuring the timely delivery of phone support and by providing customers with accurate, specific and detailed information to resolve technical and non-technical issues.
I rendered part-time work for the company to keep and manage its books, submit monthly reports to the Director, and did general office and clerical work by preparing memoranda, letters and other correspondence and basic computer operations.
I completed this work as part of the requirements to complete a degree in Accountancy. Part of the work accomplished was to create and maintain a suitable and workable database of trainees and training programs for the long-term use of the Institute.
