This was a new role at Dairy Daughters, reporting to the MD and working closely with the MD and the Sales and Marketing Manager. The job was to ensure the smooth running of the business in three key areas, Product, Marketing and Sales, as well as general office administration.
Product
· Pricing . Cost prices, retail prices, offer prices. Control of margins.
· Stock Control. Monitor stock against orders, order stock replenishment. Required close working with sales dept, distribution and MD.
· Product Information. Maintain data files on all products.
· Arrange shipments of stock; liaise with suppliers in Spain, America, Germany and Italy regarding product delivery. Liaise with cargo companies at Heathrow Airport to ensure the shipment passed through customs and supply the relevant/additional paperwork as necessary.
Marketing
· Prepare and monitor a schedule of sales campaigns in conjunction with Sales & Marketing Manager.
· Administrate each campaign, including production of literature, mailings, incentive schemes for customers and staff.
· Maintaining the company website
Sales
· Monitor the sales performance of the business against target and previous years. Compile reports for Management meetings to show the differences.
· Monitor individual sales staff performance, making use of the Bullseye programme. Send reports to the individuals making them aware of their progress and motivating them towards targets.
· Calculate the individual’s performance against their targets and produce commission rate to be added to wages.
· Database Management. To ensure the individuals were using their database efficiently. To monitor their calls and help them manage their data.
General office administration included dealing with our service providers, payment of wages, reconciliation of hours and staff job sheets, personnel including staff disciplinary issues, sickness and holiday, petty cash, approval of invoices, ordering of stationary, post, waste management, etc. and to provide an environment for the team to work efficiently.
