Administered operations of a public library system with the three branches. Responsible for annual budget of $1.1M. Supervised staff of 44, including hiring, training, and evaluating. This job gave me the opportunity to begin web design. I updated content for the library site using a content management system and also created an earlier website for them in the 90s. In 1994, I designed, implemented and coded an overdue account notification program using Paradox Application Language, and discovered that I really enjoyed programming.
Website for a city government, redesigned with the Joomla 1.5 content management system. I was responsible for all design and development of the project, and incorporation of some existing code and scripts from the old site. Alternative designs : Sometimes alternate designs are as interesting as the final product. The initial concept for this site was quite different from the live site and featured one of the artist's paintings as a background.
